This may be my favorite video of all the ones you've done. You absolutely nail the Mike Stern and Tribal Tech (S. Henderson) tone and vibe. Just fantastic stuff, Ketil. I wish you nothing but continued success. Keep recording your own tunes!
Now that was amazing, right up my alley.. Stellar Rays! I used to play that one with my band, great to hear it performed by you Ketil. That Axe II sounds phenomenal indeed! Cheers!
@AtkinsSon1 I use 4 expression pedals (2 Roland EV-5's and two M-Audio EX-P's) programmed to control different parameters: I normally use one for volume and one for wah, and the two others are used for various functions, for instance delay level, pitch, misc. effects on/off and/or eff. level, etc. (this can be programmed individually for each patch)
I've never heard a human being so proficient at different guitar styles as ketil...he should be in the guitar hall of fame....is there a guitar hall of fame???
@rednebb I'm totally NOT exaggerating dude...you have special talents...and, by the way, there is no guitar hall of fame...that I could find anyway...
@synesthesia67 I mean, come on!!....Who covers shawn lane???...and, dammit,..you learned that guthrie govan tapping part that I can't figure out...tabs for the ridiculous tapping lick at the end? (after the long tapping part?) I've figured out up to there...kinda....did you learn that by just watching and listening? or did you find tabs?
@synesthesia67 ;-) Well, there are actually several other Shawn Lane covers on youtube.. Yes, I have tabs for Fives, think I found it on ultimate-guitar, I usually find most of my tabs there (in guitarpro or powertabs format, I hate plain text tabs..). And yes, that "ridiculous" lick was really difficult, but I managed it somehow, even with my short fingers..)
@rednebb totally awesome.....I really want an axe fx but can't afford...so far, only a real amp will do for our rockabilly recording project...but damn it,..the amp only sounds good cranked up good n loud...but the neighbors don't approve...my only option is my pod x3..which just doesn't cut it so far....do you ever crave for a real amp but settle for the axe fx? or has it replaced real amps for you altogether?...I am skeptical that it could really replace a fender cranked up and honkin
@synesthesia67 I have a couple of amps that I use both for practice and gigs where I don't need the Axe-Fx. None of them are tube amps, though. I have owned many tube amps before, and although a few of them sounded very good, there was always some hassle with them. I have a Tech 21 Trademark 60 that I'm very happy with, it sounds "tube-y" without the hassle.. Having the Axe-Fx I guess I don't really need anything more, but I like to have a regular amp as well, just because. ;-)
Ketil - you have incredible talent - when will you go on tour? And man can you get the most out of the axe fx - I have an ultra and I can't come close to getting as many great sounds. It would be great if you could post your ultra and fx 2 patches somewhere. Let' see more of that fusion music!
@jaxxfx32 Thanks! Well, I have no plans going on tour right now, but maybe I will some day (if I'm not getting too old..)? I actually posted my previous Ultra patches on 4shared long time ago, but now it seems they're not there anymore.. But if you PM me I can mail them to you if you want. Yeah, Fusion FTW!
@angelquinones Thanks! I didn't have the chance to compare them side by side, but let's put it like this: I loved my Ultra, but I love my II even more :-) For me, the main advantages of the II are the X/Y & quick control knobs, the mfc, usb and digital I/O connectors, plus of course the fact that it has room for expansion and can be upgraded with new firmware, whilst the Ultra is now discontinued and won't be upgraded anymore. Soundwise, the Ultra sounded great already, and so does the II..
@RockinMorroccan ;-) Norway! Yes, of course I know about Shawn Lane (otherwise I wouldn't have included him in this video..); maybe one of the greatest guitarists and musical geniuses of all times, bless his soul!
@CarlosPinto88 That depends on how updated you are ;-) The newest one is the Gretsch Silver Sparkle Jet in the background, I bought that in NY this summer. If you're interested, I've listed all of my guitars on my website.
Amazing!

Sorry if this is a stupid and elementary question, but why are you using two expression pedals and a pair of each?

@rednebb I saw that - with the orchestra looking very 80s :)
Some of the orchestra looked uncomfortable hehehe you were having fun... what country are you in?
It would be very cool to hear how you sound live - you know who Shawn Lane is I imagine?
