Mahatma Gandhi ji is like a saint. Very very few people understood him. He lead very ideal life by completely following what ever principles he believed. He cared all communities, regions,casts with equal respect and love. Had he been in simple social service ( not in politics, just preaching people), people would remembered him like a deity like any other saint and he would have temples by now. I never said gandhi ji was not into politics. Try to read again. I said, if he was not in politics ( not being a member of congress), just did what ever he did as a person, people would have remembered him like a saint.

Gandhi ji belongs to very very recent past so we have everything about him on record....good or bad. There might be good and bad things about great people we pray today, but we dont have their record. that is the resaon why we only know good things about them.

If you want there are many criticisms about him through out his life. He wrote some 'race' comments about black people in SA..blah blha. But good part of it is he tried to purify his thoughts through out his life. That is what makes him mahatma. If you take ambedkar for example, he developed hatred about uppercasts at his early age, he never stopped hating them through out his life. He could have teach what ever he want without teaching hatred about upper casts and hinduism. But he never did....

1. Gandhi ji wanted to lead non-operative movement as non-violent. When violence errupted, he wanted to stop that immediately because that is not what he wanted. You know what, that is how he chopped off that bad idea of violence at stem itself. He wanted to give more time for people to understand what he said.

If we call gandi ji as father of our nation, it doesn't necessarily mean that we have to follow his teachings all the time. It is up to us to take path appropriate to world scenario. China is best example of that. Communist china founded on basis of communism and it was in that path until Mao alive. What is china now?? You can take hell number of examples in the world around you. Nobody said Gandhi ji alone responsible for our independence. But he was main driving force.

If there no independece movement in india,British would have continued in India without any problem. But by that time every body in India got well educated about British exploitation. Great thing about Gandhi is He was student of his principles through out his life.I read his book and that is always with me where ever I go. He tried to implement his ideas and and see good/bad about them. He changed his ideas too.probably you might be knowing he ate non-veg and at times he even suspected that his wife might be cheating on him. He slapped her.there are many such bad things about him.Afterall he is a human. what ever you mentioned above are one of those.

I am not a Bhakt of gandhi ji. But I will analyze good and bad of him. I too dont like some of his desicions. But I never question his integrity. Afterall he is the best leader we ever had. If he doesn't have credentials to be called as father of our nation, Ambedkar is no way near. He never participated in independence movement. All he cared is about backward class people. It is not hatred that he has shown towards hindusim but an emphasis on restucturing the ideologies. As actual Hinduism never preeched any of the ideas which were followed until his time (untouchability, few communities disgraced). Moreover, they no- doubtedly hit self- respect. for any social group (India) No independence makes sence unless the social- structure has fraternity. Otherwise, the independence just shift the power from intruders to other high- class people which is equally worst.
