Bob, I guess you don't understand that the way they were meant to live is altered because of humans.

Notice how we too are animals, yet being engineers, we have altered our way of living completely. We have changed our surroundings to suit our needs, instead of what nature intended. 99% of species are extinct, and humans are not doing much to prevent any more from happening.
