  • What happened to the Aptera 2e? I hear nothing new about it, no videos nothing in the news and I have yet to see one on the road. They were reported to be market ready and to be on sale by now from the videos I watched on you tube. Where did they go?? Did the government, Detroit, or Big Oil do something to them?

  • I want her shes hot the car is way to expensive

  • i wanna tap that ho' in that car =)

  • I guess i am the the only person that finds this girl hot.

  • wow this is like super speed cars from another planet

  • The problem with All electric Green Cars is the price! They start at 27k to 31k. My Corolla cost 6k. Now if Gas cost $4-gal, in one year (at 12,000-miles per year) that would be $1,464. So it would take over 14 years i.e; 14 x $1,464 = $20,496,

(Plus the 6k I paid for my corolla). For a total of = $26,496. So an Electric car will TAKE 14 + Years (minis the cost of charging it) to match a Gas car like Corolla. KEEP YOUR GAS Guzzling COROLLA!

  • @robertquentincobb

the New toyota corolla start at $16,000 - $19,000.

Don't forget production gets cheaper with time, this is gonna be the first type of car that is build like that.

Also the mileage per year depends where you live( its about 12-17k, in Canada its 18k).

gas is around $5/gallon here, the NEW corolla has 30mpg.

    so 18000m/ 30mpg * $5 = $3000.

    $27000-$16000=$11000.

    $11000/$3000=3.6 years.

So it would only take 3.6 years to get your money back.

  • @spetznas101

Also thats on a Corolla, one of the most fuel efficient cars out right now(in the top 15).

average mpg in the US/Canada is 21mpg.

    MATH:

    18000miles/21mpg x$5= $4285 per year

    $27000/$4285=6.3 years.

within 6.3 years you would have saved enough money that you basically got the car for free.

Thats not accounting for the fact that Gas powered motors are much heavier and more complex then Electric Car motors, which will reduce repair costs.

  • @robertquentincobb Fine, keep polluting and gas prices are growing rapidly.

  • I miss zaproot :(

  • her accent is a mix between a brit and a california bimbo

  • It looks like sperm, but I'll drive it.

  • I'm more excited about the Aptera than any other car I know

of. So thank you for any info. related to that. Good luck in

all your other stuff too anyway.

  • The reason I pushed thumbs down is I was expecting

some useful breakthrough info. Maybe what you might

do instead of trying to put so much advertising where

it's not welcome (on free YouTube) and just provide

some creative written info on this page. If the video

is truly interesting (let's people know how to save

energy etc.) the ads will be seen. I want to patronize

those who seem to go out of their way to provide

something valuable to me ( and stay far away

    from those who do not).

  • I hate that hipster british accent.

  • tits or gtfo bitch.

  • The Girl is so Sexy i love her voice

  • Looks like Lindsay's got a new job.

  • ¡Menuda brasas!

  • STAR TREK MOVAY!

  • future cars are DAMN UGLY

  • @ZuueQuartet Okay sir what would you rather them look like??????

  • @fantommxt dont mind me . just go ahead and have a GOOD look. replay button is at the bottom of the video.

  • @ZuueQuartet Just lemmie know what your thinking. What luxury, stylish, rolls royce? Come on now.

  • @ZuueQuartet Fyi theres one right next to your post lol.

  • dumb dumb car!!!

  • The Aptera has NOT landed.

    Not yet anyway.

  • omg she is annoying

  • You talk to fast dear.

  • I love how she talks about sexy when theres the shower-heads, lol

  • make it with 4 wheels and I'm in

  • That desing (single rear wheel) can't be driven safely at 85Mph.

  • @danjorgen in 3 dimenshional space 3 points define a plane (a mathematical plane not a airplane ;) )

so for instance a table with 4 feet can alwyas tangle when the ground it stands on isn't straight, while a table with 3 legs always stands secure.

But in how far this principal goes for a vehicle formed like this I can only imagine....

    cheers

  • @Raffix394 No need for imagination. That design definitely can't be driven safely on a real road. Maybe just in test road.

  • @danjorgen who knows, and if then mainly because it's slender and not because of the 3 wheels, but nevertheless it's still safer then motorbikes and those are driven by quite a few as well..

  • @Raffix394 Nope, it's not safer than a motorcycle. On motocycle drivers body is part of the system to give stability.

ANyway, if you like you can find necessary calculations on the net and check it for yourself. If you did let me know the result. Based on my experience I guess it's not stable at that speed.

  • @danjorgen my freind has one he said its very stable and safe go to aptera.com and look at the saftey

  • Maybe she should whear something sexy

  • 4000 deposits... 110 million in sales? Thats 275 000 a pop...

  • I like it. just saw Running On Lithium and that I like much more.

  • I like it. just saw Running On Lithium and that I like much more.

  • What's a mechanical Dolphaan?

  • contributor34 i must be a millionaire to have her she is hot and rich too.also the car is super will these cars be mainstream in market?how much do they average cost?

  • i love this redhead she is cute could she be ny gf?

  • @apostolisxa sorry, you have to be atleast 50 to have a chance.

  • Why is she recommending the Kindle? Amazon's use of DRM and iron-fisted policy of control are simply unconscionable.

  • She rox!

  • aerodynamic efficiency is the key, search for the "aero civic" 100mpg car. also, check out "UBC electric car company" 300 mile range electric beetle, with a 4speed trans.

  • she sounds half American, half Australian

  • Whatever happened to the Aptera gas version? I mean, yea it may produce some emissions, but I'd like to get further than 100 miles a day.

  • can't the goddamn tree huggers come up with a better looking model.

  • i love her

  • Electric isnt always better than fuel. Electricity doesn't come free.

  • Hey you ass, delete the word future in the description

  • Fuckkk that i want speed.

  • I know this car looks ugly but you'd think all these freemen would be buying these up (the way they explain we should buy things), yet I haven't seen one of these on the road yet.

  • @wwe107 .....they aren't for sale yet.

  • @AtrocityFilms LOL, okay.

  • The aptera looks soo ugly now.

  • They got lots of investors include google who pay millions of dollars to get it on the road and one sheih from Iran who is paying even more so it will always be on youtube, on the covers of the magazines, on TV shows but never end up on the road:)

  • annoying girl :P

  • @qad417

    No, she's not, she's hot.

  • @qad417 but sexy :P

  • @qad417 Small drawback? Its turned into a financial scam! :-((

  • Car looks great. Can just barely understand the girl who sounds as though she doesn't use consonants, just talks too fast with her mouth constantly open.

  • Dude! I want one!!

  • What the hell kind of accent is that ?!!! OMG !

  • omg her voice goes thru me

  • when are these coming out?

  • Why does she talk like a gay man?

Anyway, I'm all for the Aptera. Efficiency is what we need to focus on. Sure there are a couple of small drawbacks with it, but considering how much money you'll save on fuel and maintenance, it's well worth it!

  • @explotapotomas Shes British

  • @warfare342 lmao

  • @explotapotomas it's an accent hunny try to be a lil open minded

  • @neshanr Wow, looking back at this I feel like a total bastard! Ha ha! I'm not usually like that at all. My apologies!

  • They removed the mini cameras and installed rearviewers. Why???????

  • Johnny Law said it had to have rear-view mirrors.

  • it still has one center cam mounted in the rear veiw miror.....and if it takes a crap you can still look back????my guess

  • looks like a plane to me

  • 28k?

  • Umm my second brain is working very well.

  • yes , so is mine. he's lauhing like a boxing clown " im not going anywhere 8D"

  • hmmmm

  • Redheads are hot as FUCK. This is the evidence

  • its price tag is a total rip off concidering you just get a shell and an electric motor taken from a industrial drill or something i mean who would want to buy it off you other then someone with an obsession with electric hairdryers ,its well over priced if you ask me ,is like paying for gold but getting plastic in return , no thanks

  • R&D isnt free!

  • Its a green car and an excellent commuter car for Southern Ca. cities like San Diego. I certainly wouldn't own one if I lived in Montana or Wyoming. I believe the price range is between 20k and 40k, there are plenty of people in places like Carlsbad, Del Mar, La Jolla etc that will buy it out of the gate. I predict it will be successful regionally.

  • Aptera would be great here in Miami also, where

we spend half of our driving time at red lights.....

And how about those solar cells that keep the

air inside at a constant nice temperature ????

Here in Florida, that would be GREAT ! ! !

Have you ever opened a car here in summer ???

  • well considering that it emites no harmfull fumes, you just have to plug it into your garage outlet, comes with internet bluetooth access on the screen module, free google maps gps, has a solar roof that will control the internal temperature when parked, is just as safe as any other car, and has awesome butterfly doors? and its all standard, i disagree.

  • not to mention you dont have to add oil and it won't leak out and it wont rust

body can be repaired by bayliner or chriscraft ////

  • Ur HOT girl, and i heard nothing when i saw u in that box.

  • looks goods

  • guad SUSCRIBE HELL NO, your an over advertising twat of a company, the simpsons wouldnt be susseful if 70 per cent of the programme involved seeling merchindice and y should web casting be any differnt

  • The girl host looks like a mix from Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan!

  • I know, she hot no?

  • no, shes TOO HOT

  • It will never make it to market. The sole goal is to soak investors: that's my bet. I have seen this kind of shit before. My built in bullshit detector just pegged it needle & blew the glass out.

  • True, people make billions in the gas industry or whatever you wanna call it, why wouldnt these companies pay solar electric car companies to have major delays in the release of this kind of automobile.

  • hard nipples, no bra., Subscribed

  • shes sexy and has a horny voice

  • The car or the girl? XD

  • the girl :D

  • The layering method is alot like plywood - use thin layers with grain in multiple directions to get something stronger than the original.

Unfortunately, I'm not well versed on the physics for random-fibre or ply-layering carbon fibre; I only took an introductory material engineering course in first year; I'm more into the geological side of engineering.

(I'm sorry for all the comments, but the character count limit is very limiting)

  • Oh, one assumption I forgot to mention: that they're using carbon fibre with unidirectional fibres. This is how you get the strongest carbon fibre, but it only works in one direction. It's possible to make it with randomized fibre directions (kinda like pouring glue on your carpet, though that's not a good idea). Thus, all directions have some of the force on the glue and some on the fibres. There's also a method of layering fibres such that they run in different directions in each layer

  • Continuing response to sergioakaskyler again:

I don't mean to say that composites are weaker than steel (far from it, I like composites), just that they're fairly unpredictable when you can't track forces easily. As such, they're VERY good for standalone machines (planes, for instance), but crash analysis is pretty difficult at the best of times (and computer models are based on using steel and fairly standard, making it even more awkward. I just would like to see some crash test data.

  • Continuing response to sergioakaskyler:

The reason for this is that the fibres are very strong, but bend easily. A good way to visualize this is with a lock of hair. Pull the strands apart as hard as you want, they won't snap. Put a bit of force in sideways, and they bend easily.

Since carbon fibre is carbon fibres in glue, there is some rigidity, but not as much as the fibres, or even steel, can provide.

  • sorry but this scares me!!! "in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until..." more "in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck

  • Speed bumps would scare me with the wheels like that.

  • well, consider the german smart. it is a very safe little car with airbags and crumple zone altough you wouldnt think of that immediatly. im sure its possible to design the aptera in a similar manner. i m defnitley gonna get one.

  • i want that car :D

i think i heard you wrong did you say 28000 dollars

wow finally someone starts doing some real good in this world : D

  • From the Aptera webpage FAQs:

"The Aptera 2 Series vehicle (electric and hybrid) will range in price from $25,000-$40,000 depending on options and powertrain."

Unfortunately, a bunch of places are listing this as a a motorcycle rather than a car, which I think means an automatic increase in insurance costs and, in some places, a different driving license (which is silly, this thing is driven like a car)

So you might not be saving ALL of the money you'd spend on gas, just most of it.

  • So why not use a clean diesel engine that can recharge the battery much more efficiently... Use the same efficient diesel engine as the VW TDI... that engine gets 58 mpg's I bet it can even do better in the aptera.

  • I love this car, it looks like a flying sperm.

Definitely the most futuristic looking car i've ever seen. I hope the company does see success with this goofy thing.

  • This car looks flat out amazing. I normally am not into cars and just hate the ugly flat dull look of electrics BUT this...is...SP-Fantastic. This is fantastic looking car. I cannot wait to see the H2

  • Go Aptera!

  • It's already a hot lookin vehicle but if any of you entrepeneurial R&D guys get the idea of manufacturing mods for this thing, well... alot of hybrid Apteras are going to be created.

  • Yeah, they actually say on the main reviews that the initial release is the electric, but they'll be releasing a gas and hybrid version later.

My main concern with this is crash performance. There's not much of a buffer between you and the rest of the traffic, and those front wheel pods could very easily come flying off and kill a random padestrian...other than that issue it is indeed a beaut

  • The Aptera has a crumple zone and air bags. One of the problems with America is, that we want a perfectly safe life at any expense including our freedom. Just allow someone to save out planet without messing with them. If GM could do any better they would have, Volt my ass. Go make your nanny state over seas.

  • Hey, I'm not bashing it, it just looks a bit fragile. I know they have a crumple zone and air bags, but it still looks like would shatter like glass if you bumped it with another car.

I like the car, it's just potentially unwise to drive it with crappy drivers around (but then, one could say that of any vehicle).

Still working on the logic leap you made from mentioning the safety precautions to the "American nanny-state" concept, or mainstream manufacturers pathetic attempts at such things.

  • you should visit their site. composites they use are stronger than steal.

  • A bit of information about design with composites - since they're composites (made of 2 or more things) they have variable properties. The big one is carbon fibre (which is what is usually quoted as multi-times the strength of steel), so I'll discuss this:

Carbon Fibre has 2 components, very strong fibres, held together by not so strong glue.

If a force is applied in the direction of the fibres, the fibres take the load, otherwise the glue takes the load. Thus strength varies by where force is

  • visit their site.

composites used are stronger than steel

  • true beuty

  • the type 2 interiior sux the type one looked alot better

  • yes ANY car that drives it's owner to bankrupsy is not practical therefore NEW terms of practicality will surface

  • Comment removed

  • your getting way more tech in this car than you would ever get in a yaris. Hate the Yaris, had one for 2 months, couldn't stand it.

  • Yea, and they won't legislate new laws for these cars once the market is established.. moron

They should tax break 70% of the cost of these cars like they did vehicles over 6000lbs, maybe then you're tax argument will make some sort of sense... huge vehicles have caused more havoc on the tax system then tax breaks on making choices available to people.... freedom? the freedom of choice? only happens once choice is made available, let's see gas or gas?

How about this: you're just another moron

  • unions are bullshit a thing of the past, when human rights were non-existant, they have no place in a developed society anymore, there is no need to unionize

  • Tell that to the unions.

  • should start a movement, lobby the government, unions were part of the problem at GM

  • GeneralDevestation the election is over, you don't have to talk politics again for atleast another 3 years.

I agree that at this stage there is no reason to buy electric until the costs come down. Gimick, unless you just want to help advance the tech.

Your tax argument is invalid. All progress should be halted for taxes?

Your safety argument is also a lie. I would bet my life you don't badmouth motorcycles like that, which are a lot more dangerous then this thing.

  • Did you Bush-hating fanatics STFU when he won? No. You cried and cried like the bitches you are.

The fact is, electric cars are a gimmick and impractical for most purposes.

You want to continue to lie, apparently. So now I can tell you to shut your fucking fat mouth up.

Put Obama's cock back in your mouth if that makes you just SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Motorcycles are dangerous too. I love how you like to assume a lot of bullshit.

    Go fuck off now, fag.

  • General, you don't like electric cars because they are a "liberal thing". It has nothing to do with how safe / practical they are, nor does it have anything to do with taxes. We will never see any progress in this world if you let your identity crisis make decisions for you.

As I said before, the only reason to dislike CURRENT electric cars is their cost. Being against them SIMPLY because you are a conservative is weak.

By the way I was rooting for either Hilary or Ron Paul, not Obama.

  • obvious troll is obvious

  • you may speak the truth but sleep well knowing that you alienate everyone with your profanity and vulgarity, resulting in no one listening to you and so therefore... you lose the argument. sorry.

  • I to get this clear: I AM NOT AGAINST ELECTRIC CARS THAT ARE PRACTICAL.

There is absolutely nothing practical to this car... it is a showpiece for leftist douchebags and environazis. That's it.

The Tesla roadster is 1000X more practical than this overated piece of crap. And I'd still rather have a Z06 over that car too....

This car is fucking stupid. But hey, like I said...lefty environazis can take their chances with this car encountering an SUV at an intersection. I'd like that.

  • Oh yes we sent tons of gass guslers to the gas chambers-wait that would counter what were trying to do. It would be cheaper to let you NATURALLY die off.

  • that are practical? the zo6 has a compsit hood it's lighter weight to lift however this is stronger so that it can come thought the windshield easier on a head on hit. i'd rather be in aptera than vette. back to practical This car is tall ,it can be seen. few high milage cars today are. tom ogles galaxie got 111 mpg in 1980 it was slow like diesel but it did seat six

  • Wow Autos can be classified as Liberal or Conservative? I guess F150s are Republican. And Pius are Democratic! I missed that at the auto show!

  • Yeah I would say that is true. Electric / hybrid cars are supported by liberals, while larger american made vehicles are supported by conservatives.

  • because conservatives tend to be wasteful and very scared, so they buy large gas-guzzling SUVs to protect themselves.*

*I'm just as harsh on liberals.

  • Bush hating fanatics-LOL.

You Muslim ahting fanatics just WANT to jumstart global warming don't you?

  • Like I said, It's probably fine for short runs on flatland, in a warm climate. But it just won't work in hilly areas, or in the cold. I wish it would, it would be great not having to breathe car exhaust.

  • fun jingle. be cute be green be zaproot heh

  • She's cute.

  • This is the new American auto industry, and I can't wait. All the naysayers have not really researched this car, or what people's actually driving habits are. This is THE PERFECT CAR for your day to day commute. VERY cheap to drive, VERY safe, and quite affordable when you consider the gas you won't be buying.
