  • The only real downside i see to this "Eco" boost is the fact that they only get 1 mpg better than the v8's and the fact that you have to run premium fuel in them. with the price of gas going up a nickle a day there really is no advantage. in fact you're probably losing in the end.

  • @eeezzz007 No premium fuel is required. They are tuned to run off of 87 octane.

  • @eeezzz007 Thats not true im getting at least 4mpg better than my old 2010 4.6l V8. And i do not run premium fuel in my ecoboost and we get great mpg.

  • building v-8's since the 60's? they've been around longer than that. read a little before you make a stupid comment like that. google "flat head" or "y block" and learn something.

  • @chris5256 I don't think the V8 is obsolete at all. Your EcoBoost relies on twin turbos to produce those hp and torque figures. If they malfunction or fail, repairs are very expensive. Ford's V8 offering for the F150 isn't very far behind the EcoBoost, but its a lot more simpler due to the lack of the turbos. Who knows though, with this stupid bill from Obama companies may begin to due some weird stuff with V6 engines to meet the requirements.

  • go motor trend truck of the year f 150

  • Nazi piece of shit? Wow....you think that one up all by yourself or did you have a democrat help you?

  • ok im sorry to rain on Ford's parade but twin turbo v6....? are you kidding me. Thats like twin turbos on a toaster. lol Hemi is a proven technology. You guys can have your 1 second faster track time... plus did you not see how the ford had about a 1.5 scond head start?

honestly when it comes down to the facts we got a dodge challeneger rt vs a Kia Optima in the drag video. only an idiot would buy a twin turbo v6 with a truck built around it LMAO!!!

  • @mortonuhv Someone sounds butthurt.

  • @mortonuhv Chrysler, Gm and Ford all been making v8 motors since the 60s V8 engines are becoming obsolete and before you say something stupid why don't you do your research on the Ecoboost motor The Ecoboost isn't your normal v6 motor 3.5L twin turbo putting out 365 hp and 420 ft pounds of torque This V6 motor has more Torque then your V8 Hemi & fords 5.0 & GM 5.3 This motor is the future. This is a very well engineered motor, and if you can't see that your just as stupid as the rest on here

  • @chris5226 well yall have fun being Ford's guinea pig, ill stick with my extra large displacement. Keep your China made Bull SHlT

  • @mortonuhv Go to your local engine rebuilder and see which engines are having the most rebuilds, I gaurantee the most rebuilt pickup engine is the HEMI. Ford had a lot riding on this eco boost tech and because of that did more quality testing then any engine before. Look at one, simple, HEMI NOT. Turns out ford sold eco boost in 40% of their trucks in the first year, not bad seeing they had hoped for 14%. People are loving them. now expect 80% for year 2

  • why do people race trucks? I will never understand...

  • @9992103 Because they can be quick and still function as a good daily driver.

  • @9992103 Why would you search it or even watch it? It's just for fun and killing time.

  • Dodge and Chevy called up Ford to talk horsepower and ford said "first let me ask you one question, a horse cow and deer eat the same grass right? But why does the crap all look different? Dodge/Chevy replied "umm... we don't know" ford then replied back "why would you want to call us to talk horsepower when you don't know shit!"

  • @Dabirdmaniz Don't you think it's a bit early to ride the Ecoboost's coattails? Ford has a strong rep in the truck market, gas engines haven't been that reason. I'm not saying they've been bad but Ford had four different series V8's in the 70's alone! No one sings praise to the 360 FE or cared about the 351M. Ford had been playing catch up since the first SBC in the 50's. The Triton wasn't that great, it's about time Ford stepped up and had something to offer vs the competition.

  • @ggreen31544 the ecoboost is by far a better motor then the 6.2 or a hemi because of the idea behind the motor. Ford took a 3.5 v6 and blew away the it's v8 competitors like in 2004 the new frame, power train and handling, then everyone followed now the ecoboost I assume everyone will follow their footsteps too.

  • The Ecoboost and the 6.2 Chevy are awesome motors but you can only get them in loaded down top of the line trucks. For the price if you want power and mileage go with a diesel. Dodge is the only truck to offer an engine in the same class as these that can be had in a reasonably priced truck. And I'm sure if you raced an r/t vs an ecoboost it would be a different ending.

  • Porsche928sc have no fear the ecoboost was not built by German engineers so next time your POS 928 breaks down I hope your towed by a f-150 ecoboost. It will probably be towed faster 0-60 than a 928 can on it's own!

  • Porsche928sc please do yourself a favor and shut up before you make a complete fool of yourself. You clearly know nothing about cars and track records if your a Porsche/Audi/ VW fan those break down more than almost any other car currently being produced their track record sucks! And FYI after a ecoboost was tested beyond the extremes any owner would ever put it through they tore the engine apart at 173,000 miles and it was still in NEW BUILD specs. Do us all a favor and don't talk about things

  • Ford tested it? Then it HAS to work!!!! Just like the Powerstrokes after the 7.3. Just like the 6-speed automatic. Just like the Tempo engine. Just like the Escort head gasket. Just like the 2011 Taurus electric fan relays. Just like the heater cores in the 90's pickups. Just like the A/C quick disconnect fittings. Just like the Karman Vortec aurflow meters. Ass hat.

  • @porsche928sc fuck off you nazi piece of shit

  • You're also gonna see that little boosted chainsaw engine not make 100,000 miles because of it being stresses,

  • @porsche928sc you have no clue what your talking about

it was built for the boost and ford tested them extensively and had no damages at all

so might wanna learn up your facts before you go smaking away at the keyboard like you got something important to say

  • Ecoboost are almost as fast as chevys 6.2. Thats impressive. Ive seen. Chevys 6.2 run 14.2 in hot weather. That was an extended cab brand new with 3.43s stock only 200miles on the enjine

  • Ford rules!!!!!

  • Finally Ford gets into the game. An exiting time for Ford fans, no doubt! Ford's brand-new TWIN-TURBOCHARGED engine technology beats an 8-yr. old NA Dodge engine design...(Which spanked anything Ford could offer during all of those years) I guess the Ford wins for now (until Dodge or Chevy engineers decide to twin-turbo the 5.7 or the 5.3?) Anyone care to imagine that!? Anyone else care to confirm how pointless it is to try to compare a boosted engine to a naturally aspirated one?

  • @haywire17 lol a twin turbo v8?!!?! in a truck?!?! for daily use?!?!?!! pipe dreams sir. the ecoboost was made for power and fuel economy. how is it pointless to compare a boosted engine when the n/a makes 25 more horsepower, anyway? the playing field is leveled out by displacement, 3.5 vs 5.7. either way +1 ford for thinking outside the box. these redneck hemi fans are just mad because something can beat them to the finish line.

  • @levidecker yeah, like a duramax

  • @Seetherwind actually we are talking about trucks under 50k.

  • @levidecker duramax doesn't have to be over 50k

  • @Seetherwind but usually is right?? thats the only reason i wouldnt buy a diesel. price of the vehicle and price of the fuel..... well maybe if i had that kind of money it would be a different story. i love the sound of a diesel, i actually drive them for a living. nothing beats hearing a diesel torque out. its just a whole different class of vehicle. its like comparing an corvette to a slr mclaren. sports car vs supercar/ regular truck vs supertruck.

  • awww our little v6 ecoboost engine beat your hemi again lol

  • best for towing too, with a twin turbo its gotta have gobs of torque

  • @levidecker 420ft lb @ 2500 rpm, with 90% of that available from 1700 rpm all the way to 5000 rpm. An incredible power band. Which is the reason it beats the hemi even tho it has 25 less horsepower.

  • The Dodge hemi got smoked, not a big surprise. Dodge is definitely not as great as people think it is. The Ecoboost engine seems to be about best engine out there right now for a truck. Great gas mileage and its extremely fast.

  • @mctsep the updated stock got a 13.4

  • I have a 2011 fx4 5.0 and i love it, BUT if you guess want a fast truck the new chevy 6.2l is the fastest truck made right now ive seen a bone stock brand new 2011 extended cab run 14.3 in hot weather. Wow thats badass he had 3.43s in it to and only 200miles on the enjine.

  • What in the fucking hell is wrong with your camera?

  • @lightbud Don't be mad ur mighty Hemi was raped by a 3.5 V6 which is also rated to tow more and has a heavier payload than Dodge 1500..... Dodge Sucks

  • ECOBOOST!!!!

  • Hemis are a joke stupid sales gimmick come on Chrysler you can do better than that.

  • @angus1309 it's a twin turbo you clown id hope it would beat it typical ford product cant hand around with just a naturally aspirated engine

  • @lightbud21 The 5.0 would also beat this Dodge 5.7, just barely, but still would.

  • @lightbud21 Yep...My 5.0L 2011 F-150 would murder a Hemi...Sorry you lose.

  • @MercuryMorrison1

Not even close. The 5.0 is piece of shit. I just traded my 2011 F150 FX4 with the 5.0 for a 2011 Ram 1500 sport with the hemi because of it's lack of power, especially towing. The ecoboost is a nice engine, but only time will tell if it holds up. My 5.0 struggled to pull our 5,000 pound boat. Needless to say, i no longer have it and i love Ford. But that 5.0 has gotta go.

  • @jasonwb28 You must have had a bad one...My friends Hemi can't even come close to my 5.0L towing or not...And I've driven both under towing and none towing circumstance's.

  • @jasonwb28 BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Gabedaman30

Not bullshit my friend, it's the truth. Like i said in many of my comments I love Ford, and i'm sure I will own many more in the future, but as of right now, that 5.0 just sucks in a truck. I would tell you to go drive a new Ram withthe 5.7 Hemi, but in the event you do, you better be willing to trade because you will see exactly what i'm talking about. Oh, and by the way the Ram tows the boat alot easier then my 2011 FX4 did.

  • @MercuryMorrison1

I'm calling bullshit on this. I love Ford and have owned F150's for the past 5 years, but that 5.0 is a peice of shit motor in the truck. I speak from expierence as i had a 2011 FX4 with the 5.0. Traded it and got a new RAM 1500. Until you drive the Hemi, don't knock it. I use to make fun of my buddy's Ram because it was a Dodge, and the so called "Hemi" and now i'm having to eat crow. And now i understand completely why he bought a Ram.

  • @jasonwb28 I have driven Hemi's...Several infact, both in work and racing situations, and I can speak from personaly experience as well...The Hemi's I drove...And yes I drove the 390hp 2009+ Hemi's cannot compete with the 5.0L. My friend who owns a Hemi Dodge is looking to trade in on either an 5.0L or Ecoboost F-150 as his truck is slow and practically live's in the repair shop. Granted his truck is a 2007 model. But none the less he is very disapointed in his Hemi.

  • @jasonwb28 have fun watching that dodge depreciate, dependability has always been the major issue with chrysler products. i bought my 5.0 two weeks ago and drove all of them but the tundra (i have a "buy american" complex, i know, it's stupid). the ford felt the best. better mpg, power, ride and imo the asthetics. the dodge was cheapest but they are cheap for a reason. it would be fun to say "i have a hemi," but its not 1967 anymore.... and saying "i have a 5.0" is more fun!! ;D

  • @lightbud21 Haha put that shitty dodge against my raptor. You will eat my fucking dust right off the line. Lol dodge fans are so idiotic buying shiity cheap rattling trucks that have never been made well. Btw the new dodges with "car" rear suspensions have a warning in the glovebox telling you not to haul heavy loads because the suspension is so squishy. I cant wait till someone is pulling a trailer and the suspension snaps and dodge gets sued! HAHAHAHAHA!

  • @Sk8boy297 i dont tow with my truck, jus a lil light hauling, and ill call u out. My 05 SRT-10 Ram will spank on ur raptor. Say what u want about dodge, but they hit it on the head with the viper trucks.

  • @Ajacques8000 u do know the raptor has a wide body and waqy heaver then ur srt-10 just saying anyways how much u pay for ur truck ?

  • @THEACDC1995 its not that much heavier. My srt-10 weighs over 5000 lbs. i paid $15,000 a year ago, and it only had 30,000 miles. Upgrades to come when my budget allows.

  • @Ajacques8000 i read this thing that like for each 500 pounds u lose how many point of a second :p anyways oh nice nice pretty cheap what r the upgrades? intake exhaust stuff like that ? there nice trucks tho

  • Looks like the Ferd jumped the lights and was disqualified. ONLY way it could beat the mighty Hemi.

  • Looks like the Ford killed the Dodge!
