Seems like a more refined version of NoLED for android. But i do agree if you put this on you WP7 devices it would really make a killer feature. Just make sure the software is optimized with the battery state to do this well. And since bigger batteries can obviously fit in a tighter package for instance the Razr Maxx, features like these wouldn't affect users in their daily activities as they would be able to enjoy better quick notifications then the limited standard led light.

FIRST: compare apples to apples. Android is a great OS but shamefully it's just software, it's like comparing an engine to a whole car; Android doesn't make phones but Nokia has a good trusty (even if a little bit old fashioned) OS (Symbian) which is backed up with even better hardware.

SECOND: N9 with Meego is the benchmark on UI even if it's the last Nokia running that OS

@sillver0100 I solved my problem.Anyway-IT IS BEAUTIFULL,i set it and is super good looking with my fave pictures,so my opinion is:if you have a high class nokia smart phone (x7,c7,e7,c6-01,n8 etc.),try it out!By the way i am with the X7.

@sillver0100 there's a setting there go to Settings>Themes>Screen saver>Sleeping Screen : Mark the picture you want (Note: if you choose one of the given sleep screens they change every minute). For the red clock Just touch the >Set the Night mode. that turns it Off. then OK. That's All :)

CPU & Graphics Processor combo is what matters. You sound like a PC buyer from Windows 3.1 days. The N8 hardware is fine and better than all rivals in a number of respects, particularly camera and video camera. Connectivity is another key advantage.

But for me , I don't think Win phone will solve the problem , Nokia should work to improve the hardware itself to be able to run this LIMITED HEAVY SYSTEM.The highest Nokia CPU is 680mhz !! While other companies give you a phone with dual 1000mhz CPU and 1 giga ram ,

man !! that's a laptop not a phone .

The uniqueness of android is that it's Open System which Nokia will never do .

@r0rozx umm.. Symbian is open source, and if the hardware is a problem, I tell you that WP7 requires a device which has 1GHz CPU. Nokia also promised to release Symbian devices with a 1GHz processor.

also there are rumors which say that Nokias WP7 phone will have 1.5GB RAM :/ I don't want to wait, so I'm going to buy a S^3 device soon.

@arvinm95 this app/screensaver isn't designed for the use on past AMOLED mobile phone screens. So as all the new the Symbian 3 mobiles coming out from Nokia recently have that hardware requirement. S60 mobiles are TFT LCD only.

Nokia has released many different smartphone aimed at different markets (budget, mid-range and top range) therefore more are sold.

Given iphone4 is probably the most expensive phone out there it should almost be perfect but it ain't. Its got that humiliating reception problem

I come from Finland like nokia so I should support nokia, but I don't. Their phones are just simply bad and can't keep up with Apple, HTC etc... Their best and newest flagship phone, the E7 has a 800MHz processor, HTC just announced EVO 3D with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

The things in this video are just experimental, for Nokia to keep up these should have been on their phones 2-3 years ago to help even a little.

@yukiweiqi Amoled screen use very little battery especially the way they are implemented in this app, because amoleds dont use power to display black pixels, also the screen saver turns off when the proximity sensor in the phone detects that its in a pocket or with the screen down.

This is really handy as you can see on a glance if you have any new messages or calls if your phone is on a table or desk.

iPhone does not have AMOLED display. This application is made for the AMOLED display on which it consumes wery little power. If you would run application like this on iPhone or on any other device having LCD display, it would kill your battery.

the n8, unlike the iphone/windows phone/and some androids, do not use AMOLED, they use LCD screen. AMOLED are able to produce true black by turning off the respective LEDs, while allowing the others turned on. hence, as the video said, it consumes a very very minimal amount of power.

if you were using the above screen saver on an LCD screen, however, energy is still used to produce the blacks...hence NOT saving battery power...
