SuperJeenius I have to tell you that I just watched all your FFV videos in like two weeks and you are a great LPer, now I'm starting Mario Galaxy 2 to catch up! And by the way you can change your rows in the menu by form or change I think to have 3 in the bak row and 2 in the front to have FuSoYa not take so much damage.
You can put FuSoYa in the back row if you use the change option in the menu then use form to rearrange your characters so that only Cecil and Edge are in the front row.
Personally, I find great satisfaction from how many times your mind has been blown between last episode and this. Just goes to show how epic this game's story is, since you were sad each time you lost a party member (thought they died) and then had no words to say when they came back. Where final fantasy 6 needed more work, this game is almost the epitome of its kind. Hopefully you'll find just as much enjoyment of what's left, I'd estimate you're about 90-92% done with the game.
fusoya doesnt have to be in the front row if you press "row"(either "form" or "change" in this one) in the menu itll swap the rows so you have 3 in the back and 2 in the front youll just have to rearrange whos where then.
dunno if someone told you this already or not so if they havent well here ya go.
The cave of the phantom god is actually on the moon. It's a bit of a lone area on the overworld moon map. Look west from the crystal towers/home of the lunarians when you get back there.
@SuperJeenius: You can switch FuSoYa to the back row-- place Cecil and Edge in Rosa and Rydia's spots, then adjust them so that Cecil and Edge are in the front row, while Rydia, Rosa and FuSoYa are in the back row.
@kayjo101 It's a fan translation on an emulator, there's no way NOA would let a curse slide through when you they wouldn't even acknowledge cecil's power is holy, just "light"
you can't swap party members in this game but you can in GBA and PSP. Also FFIV: The after years for wii ware or PSP you can eventuly swap party members. It'll be a good follow up to this story if you like the cast. if not try more FF games, Dragon Quest, Ys, Chrono, Secret of mana, secet of evermore, etc.
There's a boss at the end of the area and he has two helpers. One who dishes out damage and one who heals him a lot. Whatever you do, do not, DO NOT kill both his helpers he will punish you! When you fight him a good idea is for everyone to go after the big guy and for Rydia to use Titan. It'll kill his heal buddy but leave his attack buddy alive. If not finish it of with regular attacks. Once the heal buddy is down use Slyph with Rydia on the big guy and heal with Fus and Rosa =D
SuperJeenius you wont be able to swap party members until the GBA remake of the game, which after the Giant you can go to the prayer hall in Mysidia and change you party up, also giving you a new dungeon on Mt Ordeals to get they're Ultimate Weapons
after you finish this, you should let's play the after years blind (wii virtual console or psp under ff4 the complete collection which also includes ff4 the interlude)
omg you got all the way to part 44 and no one told you how to swap your row set up.... hit form twice and you should get 2 front row 3 back row... it might also be in the upper left corner while changing form i can't remember its been awhile for the snes version
@Proto7y93Ness We did have a tutorial of the row thing in some of the first episodes comments. I guess he just forgot it in this episode, it has been a long time since then.
For MP efficiency I suggest u place the sylph spell in the top right. It heals ur team, won't cost MP there (bug) and takes pressure off rosas healing. :)
Nice. I have been waiting for your reaction to the 'anti-Giant Task Force' for a long time. Also, for the record, the Cave of the Phantom God that we were all trying to get you to go to is on the Moon (you might have thought we meant the cave in the underworld where you got Asura and Leviathan). But this is awesome anyway.
I had a dream where Superjeenius' car broke down and he had to stay at my house for a while waiting for someone to help him. It was awesome, I starred in a video... Then I woke up... I was sad when I woke up.
Watching this really makes me wish that the PSP version of FFIV had been based on the Japanese difficulty instead of the American. Don't get me wrong, it can be difficult at times but it just doesn't feel as challenging as this game.
If you hadn't defeated it in the time you did, the Last Arm would have detonated a nuclear blast. Not as bad as it sounds, since it only targets one party member.
Hey SuperJeenius, have you ever played through FF1 for the NES or Mystic Quest?

After the next boss, go and heal again, because there are 2 bosses next.
And remember this, if something heals the boss, kill it first!!!
