I had the ablation surgery and they got it. I know how much it sucks. I still have anxiety over it but I have learned to control it through diet and exercise.
@sempron619: hi, -thank you! 1 year later, i had tha ablation now the 4.! time- its almost 2 months ago and NOW i'm feeling better. they used this new "3D Mappingsystems NavX". i don't use any meds anymore- some small tachykardia is still there but nothing superfast. ask your doctor about this new system. don't give up too!
is this really serious because ive had it since i was a teenager but i just let it go on its own and never seen a doctor. The longest its lasted was for about 1 hour. Superfast and hard heartbeat then it stops suddenly and you think your heart just explode!!!!!
I've been diagnosed with it this year. My fitness was'nt in question, but now I am scared to do much exercise, and even one caffeine drink i.e. coffee or a beer sets it off. We have to beat this !
wow!you are such a strong person! I had an ablation 2 years ago and it didn't work...they dud 4 burns but i couldn't breath anymore so they stoped....
i started taking the medicines and the don't help that much...
thw girl next to me in the room did it the 8th time(!)...
I have SVT. usually it is triggered by jumping off ladders or porches, alcohol (one drink), unexpected movements (standing up fast) and by getting excited. I got up to 340 BPM on my worst episode but I can usually control it. If not, three doses of Adenesine (typo) fixes the 'ole ticker quite well.
make sure you get an electrophysiologist whoi does ablations all the time..this is a lucrative business and you dont want just any joe DR. doing this. Major medical centers have Physicians who do this full time...and only this along with pacemakers and defibrillators. Ask you DR. questions how many does he do a year...if he does less than 50 a year...stay away.they can screw up your heart real bad..very dramatic and loose with thge facts video...next to zero deaths involved in this procedure
HOLY HELL!!400 bpm and a pulse of 280?OMG you're so lucky to be alive!I just had an ablation 2 days ago for a-fib which is small potatoes compared to what you had.God bless you and your family.
i am 23 and had the ablation 3 times this year. i cried during operation cause they didn't let me sleep to get all tachycardia and it hurt so bad. they burned about 15 times. first time was 4hours (6burns), second time 5 hours(also 6burns) and this time (4days ago) almonst 6 hours. when they told me that i have to take the meds my whole life i was so shocked that i started crying again. i tried it for 3 times and its still coming back.
@123Semmi thats what im afraid of i had it once already but didnt work and now im on medication Metrprolol and i feel a lil better but dont wanna take medications all my life. Sorry to hear u have to. Just keep trying and never give up.
Hi there,Iget svt from time to time it is a total s##t but it is what it is and i have to live with it, i have been taking verapamil for 18 months now and things are a lot better. the best advice i can give is to stay cool and accept svt.very hard i know but you have to put your mind at rest.good luck i'm sure you will be ok.
Hi , I'm from the UK. I have SVT, I get what I call heart wobbles now and again which to me is a warning sign I could have an SVT attack if I'm not careful, most of the time I get an attack if I bend down to pick something up whilst breathing in the wrong way ( sounds strange I know ) but if I do catch it wrong then badoom badoom badoom sudden faint feeling and heart rate jumps up to 240 bpm, I can somtimes stop it myself by bending down double and holding breath, otherwise trip to hospital.
to get some denazene ( I think that's spelt wrong ). The other thing that gives me an SVT attack is a sudden downward jolt, like jumping off of somthing or hitting a wave in a boat. I hate SVT and am slightly scared of getting the radio frequency ablation done, don't know if it would sort out my problems. If anyone wants to reply to me , please PM. :)
hey i have the same issue, exactly the same , when i have a sudden movement, jumping, etc., i had the ablation and i was taking metoprolol for 3 years, a month ago i had SVT again, now im scared to play, do exercise, i think that i have to learn to live with it, but i think that faith is the key, cuz in some cases the ablation can fix your issue.
I feel your pain people....had it for most of my life and I"m thirty. While it is scary....try and get a hold of yourself. Calm down and take a deep breath.....SVT is NOT deadly. Annoying yes...dangerous...no! I wish you all luck! While my abalation didn't take , it did last for several years, I would still recommend getting it done. It's easier than getting a tooth pulled!
Hey, I am 14 years old and was diagnosed with SVT 2 days ago, though I had started getting them 2 years ago. My bpm was 260! I was in school, and was rushed to the ER. The EMT had me raise my legs and bear down, which broke the rythm down to 175-ish. I'm also Hypoglycemic, and I take 25mg Atenolol Daily, (Spelling might be wrong) wich covers the hypoglycemic symptoms. I'd love to here other's stories, so message me them!
im 15 and ive had SVT since i was in 3rd grade. my heart gets up to about 230 bpm, which is the highest i have it on record. (my mom always put off calling 911 until last year) and i got to the cardiologist on april 2nd to find out when im getting it fixed =] (FINALLY!!!)
Im 20 and was diagnosed with svt when i was 14, my heart beats at 200+ beats a min often but i dont experience pain more of a discomfort. i dont take medication as dr said a common side effect is being lathergic and drowsy does anyone find this? he has recommended the catheter ablation has anyone had this? id be grateful for feedback. emily i think your really strong.
Had the surgery...was no big deal but I did have a rare complication (hole in lung...oops)! But the surgery quit working and I'm back to my old SVT ways. I would still recommend having the surgery!
yep, i have it, im 15. I do go drowsy and you feel all dizzy coz its like seeing thru a dream and u feel like your going to faint, and it feels nice when it goes back to normal and u feel all tired and a tiny bit sick (uno that tingly feeling in the back of your throat), im just thankful its not deadly :)
I was diagnosed with svt last winter, and I am 24 years... I think the worst part for me is the fatigue. It is so hard to be young and want to go running or swimming at this age and be afraid to go through the painfully fast heart beats. I am not on medication by choice, and I would love to jojn a support group...
do you literally mean pain? cuz i was diagnosed with svt myself and i was running on a treadmill and within 3-4 mins my heart rate was at 190-195 i was afraid it would go higher but i have never experienced chest pain thats is brought on by a rapid heart beat. the only time my heart goes fast is if i get nervous or something. i do get chest pain but doctors have said its not my heart i am very confused right now
i suffer from svt aswell im only 20! it very frightning i m probbly going to have to take medication for the rest of my life or waut till im 25 to have an operation!
just be strong! and never let your illness control your life or stop you from doing things
. I am a SVT suffererMy heart has been over 300 Beats per minute when they had to stop it and re-started through cardio version or adenosine.
S.V.T has taking control of my life I have had the ablation it did not work for me now I have seizures I am in a electric wheelchair on oxygen its horrible. Worse they missed diagnosed me for 5years with panick attacks until it showed up. can you email would love to talk with you.
I'm 21 years old and suffer from svt and it is truley horrible. I give u a lot of respect going through what you did because it can seem like hell. God is in control and u will be a better person from this. Hopefully you can get the ablation done and be cured because that is what i'm probably going to do. It makes you look at life differently huh? Hope you have a great life and God Bless!
