I don't know why Texas doesn't invest in Electric Commuter Rail like the NE , its cheaper & Cleaner , accelerates faster , brakes faster , overall it would fit in Texas Nicely

They are investing in cheaper, faster accelerating diesel technologies. New lines start opening next year.

And BTW, the trains DART uses are actually faster, break faster and accelerate faster.
