Honestly, I saw TesseracT with Between the Buried and Me, and Animals as Leaders and TesseracT's new vocalist (Elliot) is really, really bad live. Like, really bad. Maybe he was just having an off night, but he did no justice to their older songs. None.
I want to like this new guy, but I saw them in NYC on Sunday, and either he was having a bad day, or he really just can't sing. He can't growl, he was off key a lot, and he has this move where he licks his thumb, and slicks his hair back with his hand, which was amusing, but I'm not looking forward to the next album. I even didn't buy any merch at the show due to his performance.
I only just found out there was a new vocalist, don't get me wrong I like the dude and this track sounds frickin awesome, can't wait for the full thing, I just miss Dan's voice, it just had that more unique feel, the notes he could hit were frickin amazing and the whole music combined just sounded magical

I had just found out about Dan and all I could find of yours was this. I'm just worried that you're going to end up sounding like that guy from periphery; I can't stand that whiny tone that's become popular. It's theatrical in a very juvenile way and not truly soulful. Dan's voice was a carrier wave of raw emotion. Please live up to that.

Idc about "being gay vocalists" as long they only are pleasuring my ears...

You know, at first I liked it, then I hated it, and now i'm addicted to it. Elliot really brings his own sound to tesseract. Yeah it sounds like a girl is fronting it, but what band of this genre sounds like this? His melodies are super interesting in this song too. Will probably miss Dan's vocals but these new ones are pretty good. Sounds indeed a lot like Protest The Hero, and PTH has some pretty ballin' vocals.
I personally think that Elliot's vocals are more interesting to listen to than Dan's. He has a unique style and doesn't rely on just holding out long notes with a shit ton of reverb. I can't wait till he incorporates his screams because they are better than Dan's by far. Just listen to Immaterial by Haunted Shores. So dope!
I try not to be one of those people who constantly bitch when a band I love gets a new singer, but damn, I REALLY miss Dan's vocals. Whenever I listen to this, I can't help but imagine how Dan's vocals would've sounded. I think I'll always like Dan's vocals more, but I understand that shit happens and bands need to keep moving forward.

SEA is one of my favourite bands along with Tesseract, and Elliot has stepped it up way beyond what I ever thought he could do from the SEA ep, and suits the band perfectly. Looking forward to seeing more and more of the new material.

i didn't know that you have to be able to sing like him to be allowed to criticize him. Everybody is entitled to an opinion, yet, it's almost undeniable that even though Elliot has a good voice and can sing, he is utterly unsuitable for TesseracT (or at least for the old, eerie Tesseract) . I highly doubt this is going to be at least half as heart-touching as Dan's fabulous performances. As many others have stated before : R.I.P. the Tesseract we all love.

IMO i think Elliot's voice makes tesseracts music more dream like..well his clean vocals anyways. I like it. I still like Dan though. Looking forward to a new album and hearing more. we all will always have Dan's vocals on "One" so why not give Elliot a chance on the new stuff. just my opinion anyways.

You know, at first I liked it, then I hated it, and now i'm addicted to it. Elliot really brings his own sound to tesseract. Yeah it sounds like a girl is fronting it, but what band of this genre sounds like this? His melodies are super interesting in this song too. I honestly wasn't sure if this was going to work out, but I think i'm going to love tesseract more.

Saying "RIP TESSERACT" just makes you seem stupid.. If you're a serious fan, then you'll give it some time and try to adapt to the change. Besides we haven't heard a shit at this point. Tesseract (old or new) doesn't deserve idiots like that as fans.

I personally think that Elliot's vocals are more interesting to listen to than Dan's. He has a unique style and doesn't rely on just holding out long notes with a shit ton of reverb. I can't wait till he incorporates his screams because they are better than Dan's by far. Just listen to Immaterial by Haunted Shores. So dope!

I try not to be one of those people who constantly bitch when a band I love gets a new singer, but damn, I REALLY miss Dan's vocals. Whenever I listen to this, I can't help but imagine how Dan's vocals would've sounded. I think I'll always like Dan's vocals more, but I understand that shit happens and bands need to keep moving forward.

Holyeeee fuck. Dan is an AMAZING vocalist for sure, serious talent especially live. But like....fuck. SEA is one of my favourite bands along with Tesseract, and Elliot has stepped it up way beyond what I ever thought he could do from the SEA ep, and suits the band perfectly. Looking forward to seeing more and more of the new material.

with all due respect. i love tesseract. in fact i followed acle and TesseracT since myspace, back when TesseracT was a one man bedroom project. i loved how they evolved. they took their time for everything. seen them live with two different singers, once in front of 30 people. still loved them. but this, seriously, is the worst i've ever heard by TesseracT. why taking the next best guy that can sing high notes but has a voice like a mix between cedric of TMV and Rebecca Black!???

I think the slight change in guitar tone is distressing me more that the change of vocalist. Might just be my speakers. Tbh Elliot is a fucking amazing vocalist, as is Dan. Neither is better, they're just different and I think TesseracT will adapt well to it.

i didn't know that you have to be able to sing like him to be allowed to criticize him. Everybody is entitled to an opinion, yet, it's almost undeniable that even though Elliot has a good voice and can sing, he is utterly unsuitable for TesseracT (or at least for the old, eerie Tesseract) . I highly doubt this is going to be at least half as heart-touching as Dan's fabulous performances. As many others have stated before : R.I.P. the Tesseract we all love.
