I can't get it to work, I enabled sharing from XP, went to Ubuntu->Network, i see the Windows Network icon but i can't enter, i get the following error:
Unable to mount location: Failed to retrieve share list from server
What should i do?

I cant see my shared file
Is it really that simple or does iptables require some configuration, prior to this?

Yes, it is really that simple. No need to config iptables (unless of course you configured iptables to block the ports, then modifications is needed)
