  • How do I do this with Ubuntu 11?

  • nevermind i found a solution, had to login as root and use the mount command.

  • I can't get it to work, I enabled sharing from XP, went to Ubuntu->Network, i see the Windows Network icon but i can't enter, i get the following error:

Unable to mount location: Failed to retrieve share list from server

    What should i do?

  • @rudxai i'm having the same issue whats the mount command ? or is it in the help section ?

  • is it because linux and windows are on the same computer?

  • I cant see my shared file

  • Is it really that simple or does iptables require some configuration, prior to this?

  • Yes, it is really that simple. No need to config iptables (unless of course you configured iptables to block the ports, then modifications is needed)
