Let me make one thing clear: The "quadrupel" thing has nothing to do with the Trappistes Rochefort 10. One of the great variaties of the La Trappe beer from the Trappist Abbey of Berkel-Enschot (NL) is called Quadrupel. Rochefort 10 (the world's best beer, together with the Westvleteren 12) is just called "Rochefort 10". Forget about the quadrupel in this context because it isn't correct.
try to pronounce it's in french hehe. But you're right, this beer is one of the best. I'm afraid i'm going to take some tonight. or perhaps a few.
If you can you should also try the Tripel Karmeliet like Thijs suggested, along with Brugse Tripel, St. Bernardus Tripel, Tongerlo Prior, St. Berbardus Abt 12. Well I can name you a long list but these are (some of my) favourites. I'm dutch but the belgians are king of the strong beers. We only have proper lager and one very fine trappist: La Trappe.
Thank you for watching my review. I've had the Westmalle, which is good. I don't really care for Duvel, just not my favorite style. I wlll keep an eye out for the other ones you mentioned. Thanks!
Yeah, Duvel has a lot of carbonation, which sets it apart from other beers but is not liked by everyone. I personally like it, but I will just as much enjoy a good Leffe (Blond). Be sure to also check out Rodenbach (regular or Grand Cru) and the different types of geuze.
I had never heard of it up unitl now. But from their website I learn that it is a very young beer; they only started brewing as of 2002. That worries me to some extent, but I'm eager to try it anyway. It is being brewn close to where I live (West Flanders), so I will be visiting the local retailer first thing tomorrow! ^^
Awesome! Ya, tell me what you think. I know that they are young, but there are many craftbreweries that are making some very impressive beers. The Urthel and Rochefort quadrupel are my favorites now.
With Urthel, I think one of their beer is not good, and that's their Bock beer. It's pretty darn bad.
from my experience, the "problem" with north americans liking this beer is that they were brought up with beers that mainly quenched their thurst. When they get a good belgian that they need to drink at a moderate pace...it just doesn't seem familiar to them.
My absolute favorite beer. Thanks for this video :)

Great beer, great review!
You should also try Westmalle Tripel, Duvel, Tripel Karmeliet, Westvleteren (may be very hard to obtain)...
Greetings from Belgium!
