is a good idea to aply u brake ,right after is on park,,BECOUSE!!!!that dont roll back or forwad,,,,and when u get back to ur car is easy going from "PARK" to "D" u dont do that on up hill, or down hill i ur drive way,,,u may end up broking ur automatic shift stick, most people do that thinking put in in park that is safe, but dooing RIGHT is safe and dont cause any damage to ur car,,,
best tip is looking back the whole time while reversing. TRUST ME!! i have had to many accidents for not looking behind. and my bumper looks terrible haha
@VeliCetaVrh not really. i drive an auto and am nowhere near lazy. its about how you use what you have. i can probably outdrive you on any road thats not a straightaway. period.
For AT's, going downhill in Drive actually uses less gas because there's no fuel being burned by the engine as it uses the momentum of the car to keep spinning. Meanwhile, if you use Neutral, fuel is burned to keep the engine running! ^_^
i was driving, coming to a stop in a parking lot, i was probably going 4 mph.. i popped it in Park . i dont know why. i was not paying attention. is that going to affect my car really badly?
I've got a problem driving an automatic. I feel disconnected when i have slow down during traffic. Any insight on this?? I'm only comfortable and totally confident when driving manual/stick shift.
Before in italy automatic car were made and sold only for people who weren't physically capable of using a manual car, so really if you driving a automatic, your handicapped! and you duuno how to drive.
I would prefer a standard trans, but I didnt have much of a choice...I got the car I got because it was dirt cheep for what it was, and it has potential.
@trev711 In America, these is no seperate license for automatics and manual. If you pass your road test with an automatic, you will receive a license that also allows you to drive a manual even if you don't know how...
I am so new to driving. So now im going to watch vids how to drive cuz I had noone to teach me and my school didn't accept me in the driving ed class.
I just went driving for my first time. It's pretty easy, I just needed to gain some confidence in a parking lot before going out on a road. It's no big deal, you learn quickly.
in the urban enviroment where you have lots of stopping there is little point driving a manual. this ain't no competition. manual gear box is like punishing urself for no reason. .
well if u think about it some people that are almost about to take there driving leason would want to know how to do this so i think this was a good idea
@boboz90 Of course it will be helpful to you. YOU ARE A NOVICE! If it has been helpful to you fine. However most who watch find it a waste like me. No need to be Hormonal.
@boboz90 Obviously auto is not hard to learn. It basically explains itself. All that there is really to learn about using the transmission is when to use lower gear for hills and breaking. Other than that there is no special skill in driving auto. Why don't you try manual or twin stick? Then we'll see who the moron is. Youtube is free for all to watch so its not a matter of why watch but why make the video if there is hardly anything to learn from it at all. Good day.
Why do people argue that automatic is better in anyway?
Manual gives you better hand coordination, Way more control over the car (unless your mentally disabled) and you save a ton of petrol + It's way more fun ;)
I don't know about you but driving auto is like being pushed in a pram...
@ghillieman24 woah woah woah, no need for profanity. It's called distracted driving. Although it isn't enforced, you learn that being distracted while driving increases accidents.
@doped1 It's actually pretty complex, it just has the illusion of being easy. Controls for a manual are clutch, 4-6 forward gears, the gear selector falls to neutral by default, and reverse gear. In an auto, you have park for parking, reverse, a separate neutral "gear", low (1) and 2nd gear, then you have drive which gives you gears 1-4 (w/ 4spd) but if you turn off "overdrive" you get gears 1-3. Some gears require the brake to be pressed, others don't. Most people only know P, R, and D.
I Am only 14 and this is a piece of piss to drive foreward. but when i was driving a car in reverse it Stopped "kind of stalled" and the engine went off do you keep the brake on slightly as well as the throttle untill you stop
@MRVIDEOGUY1010 you should never press the break and the throttle at the same time in an automatic car (specially front wheel drive cars) because if you do it hard enough (the breaks) it will stall your engine (not sure if thats what actually happens in auto but thats is the case in manual). Also in almost all automatic cars as soon as the car is in D or R it will start rolling slightly, if you need to reverse a little faster then apply a little more gas (gradually)
@MRVIDEOGUY1010 if you stalled an automatic car while then you must have popped it into reverse before you came to a complete stop after going forward... thats the only case i can think of.... very strong jerk or almost a stall right?
@moham7ad Nah The engine just stopped. but i was driving the other day and made no mistakes after reading the bit about coming to a complete stop, i may have still been moving. Thanks M
@creedstruth First:manuals are awesome.Second:why would you have sex while driving? If I was gonna get laid in a car i would take it to a quiet location and stop. Geez ur so retarded.
only reason to apply the ebrake when you park is to not give the car "wiggle" room. Ebrake only keeps it in the same spot, P lets the car move a bit up and down. it will not roll down hill like this moron thinks.
P.S. if godzilla is nearby, why are you worried about your car? your done.
Some manual elitists make me laugh. Why is it such a big deal if someone prefers driving an automatic car to a manual one? It's not like they're forcing YOU to drive it.
@LeonSKennedy828 in japan it is required to pass a test driving both a manual and automatic. that is why japan is a country filled with highly skilled race car drivers, and america is the slowest country in the world (on the road)
@LeonSKennedy828 the legal speed limits in america are the slowest in the world. but, thats beside the point, my point is if everyone were driving manual, it would be safer to drive faster because the amount of control granted by a solid mechanical gear is astounding compared to a liquid hydrolic driven gear in an auto. not to mention, the knowledge and understanding it takes to drive a manual already makes you a better and safer driver. most countries infact do force you to test with manual.
@TRIPLESIXSICCNESS haha kid, my 9 year old niece can put D and reverse and apply throttle and brakes in the yard with my sister in law car, you don't need to learn anything to drive those cars, and i was driving long before i was 14 with manual cars, i worked with cars when i was that age, to hell with licence you can drive cars whenver you want in here, just not get caught
@F9Films I've got a problem driving an automatic. I feel disconnected when i have TO slow down during traffic. Any insight on this ?? i used to drive a manual transmission pick up but my mom sold it and got me one with automatic transmission I. I'm a pick up guy man but i'm having trouble finding my grip mentally coz of the automatic gears. i'm fuicked on this one!
here in the Philippines, almost all(i think 90%) of the drivers here wants manual transmission. One reason why they don't want automatic vehicles...theres no thrill while driving automatic vehicles and they cant feel their "being-expert" on driving....
You should ALWAYS apply the handbrake BEFORE you put it into park
if you dont, you risk damaging your transmission because park is not designed to hold the cars weight for a long period of time, if you keep doing this, the transmission will eventually fail and will be very costy to fix
I'm a driving instructor, and I'm embarrassed by this. I love how he says: "Also apply the e-brake in case... I don't know." He should either KNOW why, or not make the suggestion at all. The answer is because the transmission can fail to hold a car steady, and even on a seemingly level surface a parked car can roll or be nudged by cars and pedestrians. None of us know everything, but it's a video, and you're planning in advance, so ya might as well look up the facts before the camera rolls.
ROFL! you just started making the vd and you already made a mistake, when changing gears.... and going to reverse, make sure your fully sotpped, haha and Ill say at least 50 people dumb anough that watched this vid just broke their transmissions when they went to a full stop trying to figure out how to change gears....lol
hey dude.... when v driving in D mode suddenly a car overtakes us and go means.............. should v stop our car to put it in sport mode....... or while driving itself can v shift just like that to sport mode......................?

He's right about Godzilla, last time he shook the earth my car rolled into the street and hit another car. Gotta use the e break.

@gurmumum you dont put your foot on the break when starting the car, just when you put it into drive, reverse, neutral, etc.
