It's not up to the officer to convict the crook, his job is to arrest people who break the law so you can get arrested but not convicted in court due to lack of evidence. Or the state/ jury find that the punishment does not fit the crime/ innocent, and it was the Mayor or Governor that demand for Gates charges to be dropped.

Want to finish my comment about being arressted. My bond was $25,000. I thought it was a joke I did not say anything about race, but a white man was arressted before me for beating on his wife, HE WAS RELEASED. I spent a night in Jail, for something that was a PROPOSED LAW.

Yet recently a WHITE woman with a Doctorate degree who teaches at a college, she left her child in the car while she was at work. Child Died. NO JAIL time NO charges..... what?? There is a problem in America.
