First, Thank You alexvd for posting. With his warmth and genuinely sincere personality, JIM MCKAY WAS A CLASS ACT. He allowed us to feel we weren't just detached observers, but were a part of the sports family. While he will be missed, along with sooo many other sports fans, we are very grateful he was here at all and for so long. Rest In Peace, Mr. McKay. You represented the BEST of professionalism and the human family as a whole. We will Never for get you.

He was remembered for the coverage of the 1972

Munich Massacre that killed 11 Israeli Atheltes who were kidnapped. 2 people were killed in their rooms on the morning of September 5,1972. 9 people were killed at the Munich Airport at nighttime. It was tragic day in Germany. It was the special report that they were inside Building number 31. The Arab terrorists were called the ¨Black September¨. The German Snipers were retrived at the hotel of the Israeli headquarters the place was in Munich.
