You know something... I truly despise those jumps in that mansion. In any other game, I'd be able to do it with my eyes shut. But b/c the jump mechanics in this game are so horrible, it's so grueling. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, I just hate the jumps.

this the first game i ever beat, although i did it by consuming P2's lives in the first level. theoretically, you can have infinite lives if P1 and P2 only die when they kill each other as their life gets low.

Wow my little bro and I used to kickass in this game. I loved the flying knee and spin kick cause they were so badass. I was disappointed when I found out I couldn't download this for the Wii. Great gaming here and the soundtrack was awesome, especially the ending.

Acclaim definitely squeezed all they could out of the 8 bit format for this one. I remembered being blown away as a kid at how polished and professional it looked compared to other nes games, one of, if not the best game for the nes.

the puzzles in this game are HORRIBLE... even worse than the ones in DD1. one of the major downsides of the series on the NES. Not the worst in a nintendo game by far, but a real shame in a double dragon game. still, the non-jumping puzzle parts are pretty decent for the 8-bit era

At 0:16, I heard that you can jump off that ledge without dying where you don't have to climb down the ladder. All you have to do is wait for the finger to point down and then you can jump off the ledge.

I always die on the either the disappearing platforms or the gear room. The top right gear is so tricky because it only stays still for a second. That's as far as I've ever gotten. I also hate how the Abobos throw me off the cliff outside their hut in the jungle :(

Sound effects are so much better than stupid DD 3, it makes it so satisfying to do a move, especially than high knee..awesome a true NES classic, never to be duplicated. There was a code you could put in if you died at stage 7 and beyond, and you could continue from that point. Forget the code, but you can find codes for almost any system, even old coleco, on game faqs dot com

i do them after i jump-kicked. the knee usually works right after you land from a flying kick then you do a jump kick again then press the kick button. you get to do the uppercuts when you press the punch button after you land. it's cool when the bad guys (especially abobo and the terminator) dodges your moves you can counter them. the kness are quite strong and sometimes kills at once.

I loved getting the bad guy close to the water, then throwing them in. Also, if you line up correctly, you can throw an enemy onto one of the rocks of the "bridge". They will get up, then jump right into the river.
