What did you use for the upper rings at 0:51 ?
Does the tank of water has to be so much above the other construction or doesnt it matter?

Upper rings are the part of electric switch (material -plastic)
Upper electrode from copper PVC isolated wire, soldered on to disc from laminate (PCB laminate). The tank of water should be on suitable height, to water flowed quickly.

Is it better to take copper tube for upper electrode?
Is it tank water need to be a metal?
What material is bottom can?

Generator more easily starts from such electrode which I applied (plastic tube and metal spiral).
Container from water does not need to be metal.
Bottom containers from any non-corrosive metal.
rell good, u made it better than i did, but i got an A in school when making it. xD

Cans can be any. Not too small surface (min. 250cm square).
Also, is there a specific reason why you used magnets or could you have connected the wires in some other way?

Magnets have not meaning. It more easily to interconnect wires.
Well done! I'm going to have to build this one day. Any tips or ideas if it will work with tuna/pineapple cans?
