  • British trains suck.

  • Why was the guy wearing two hard hats?

    Hard Hat FAIL!

  • Damn that car beasted on that train

  • aaaaaaaaa?\

    come on

  • aaaaaaaaa?\

  • So kids remember, the train is mightier than the pen

  • the car- isn't!

  • What kind of Railroad crossings are those?!

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG is da snail ok?

  • omg is the snail ok?

  • Poor snail, lol got crushed by train!

  • @twistedtornado100 Really? On the other track with a stop sign clipped to it, hours before the crash?

  • @danlefou no it was crushed

  • @twistedtornado100 Please yourself. You probably do...)

  • FUCKIN A!

  • If there was driver in the car-train buffers would kill him immeadetly!

  • Who are the fools saying a US train would have left nothing, US trains a slow pieces of shit, they can only dream of trains from the UK/Europe and their speed, hell most push bikes are faster than US trains, while the train on here is from the 70's or before.

  • @t5mikka I've railroaded in the USA, Canada, Mexica, UK and Germany. US trains may be slower, but one average train in the US, Mexico or Canada is going to haul far, far, more product than the European trains. It's a different way of moving freight as the countries are so different. The rock trains I dealt with in the UK are tiny compared to the same trains in North America. Neither is "shit". Just respond to the market place differently.

  • @Boss302fan Britain pays the penalty of the pioneer; by the time it was realised that trains could, and would, carry much more than originally expected, we'd already built thousands of bridges, tunnels, depots and station platforms. We're stuck with a restricted loading gauge from the mid-19th century, and our trains can't be any bigger. We also have some of the most expensive land in the world, particularly in towns, where new lines and depots would have to be built.

  • @danlefou As in the UK, early railroads in the US, Mexico and Canada were built with bridges, tunnels and infrastructure for light, low tonnage operations. The average freight car in N/A was very similar to that in Europe. These huge countries in North America have far longer hauls over very rough terrain and so those railroads here evolved to fit the needs...principally freight. Europe evolved with lower tonnage, faster operations principally passenger. Neither is wrong.

  • ha, the best using of a renault :D

  • Should have used an American train, there would have been nothing left.

  • @Dragunov1Bros Just browsed arround but found no difference at all, are you sure or are you just playing the "My d*ck is bigger than yours"-game without knowing if what you're saying is true...

  • @LordMarfVK Well, sorta depends n what type of train you use. As in, the long US freight trains that total 100 cars or more, barreling at you. Makes a difference

  • @Dragunov1Bros No it doesn't make any difference. The extra weight of American freight trains will have no effect on the car, only the velocity. The loco used here is a light one, but it still weighs 80 tons, which is 79 more than the car. Even if the train weighed as much as the moon, the acceleration of the car on impact could only be 1.25% more. Not that this matters, as the car would crumple if the train hit it at 1mph.

  • @elfabyanos The loco weighed at least 100 tons, and was released at 80mph. American freights never exceed 60. Kinetic energy increases as the square of velocity, but the car, unless welded down, could only absorb enough to get it moving at the same speed as the train. Acceleration against its own inertia is what crushes it. At 1 mph it would be only slightly dented. Crash investigators treat the loco front as a fixed wall, and calculate the speed at which a car would have had to hit it.

  • @danlefou true the car would have to be welded down to be crushed at 1mph, my point was the force to do so would be available without 1000tons of trailing wagons. Also, unless that loco had added ballast it weighed 73tons - it was an ex-Southern region BR class 33.

  • @elfabyanos The loco was 31107, a retired hulk kept by Network Rail for spares, and since scrapped. I don't know how much of it had been removed, but quoted weights for Class 31 are 74 tons adhesive, 105.5 tons total, up to 113 tons fuelled. Presumably it was without fuel or coolant, being pushed up to 80 mph by the Class 31 seen behind it. In stating that crash investigators effectively ignore variation in train mass when calculating speed, I was agreeing with you.

  • @danlefou right you are, I could have sworn it was a 33, but on another viewing... :)

  • @LordMarfVK Well, sorta depends on what type of train you use. As in, the long US freight trains that total 100 cars or more, barreling at you. Makes a difference

  • thats a death sentence

  • OMG! IT'S TOP GEAR!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!

  • My pet rat was in that car LOL

  • Every died, just saying.

  • COOL car is dust now:(

  • If your the passenger.....game over!

  • I hope the train was ok...!

  • SMACK!

  • Thats f*ckin crazy. You would not have a hope in hell of serviving that.

  • whats with the 2 hardhats?

  • @17wolfman Jeremy "Big Daft Cock" Clarkson at your service.

  • he practicaley went right through him

  • Snail alive, because cameraman save him

  • thats about equal to chuck norris stepping on a lady bug

  • ITS OKAY EVERYBODY!!!! it was a voltswagon

  • ouch

  • if thats 5 star whats 1 star rating like

  • I think the snail survived, 'was on the right side rails

  • jeremy wearing 2 helmets.

  • Only time a car could win against a train is if it weighed more than the train!

  • Thats the most gratifying way to get rid of a shitty car.

  • if it were any faster it would have just blown the mille off and left the fron and back just sitting there

  • what sod the snail that would be a brilleon way to die

  • Ohh that was terrible!

    Anyway,Save the snails!!! :)

  • Ohh that was terrible!

    Anyway,Save the snails!!!

  • @smileitsme0827 comment copier

  • @smileitsme0827 Save the Snailes!!

  • what snail????????

  • @AutumnPolitics at 0:46 seconds

  • Where was there a snail?

  • How stupid.

I'd laugh if during one of these ridiculous reinactments, the locomotive was derailed and track damaged.

Hey morons. We already have enough of these, plus video of REAL collisions.

  • @robertgift that maybe true but nothing is wrong with trying to reinforce the message dont play with trains is there?

  • @tom201090 We already have MANY such videos. No need for more.

Show videos of actual crashes. Nothing better than the real thing.

  • @robertgift Yes, lets see real people being killed ...... :rolls eyes:

And they say us Americans are violent...

  • @M1911A1 Only a very few dummies like yourself do not understand that a car is no match for a train. (Hint, they would not want to be hit by just another car, either.)

We already have MANY such asinine videos, and videos of real crashes.

Only morons think more need be made.

Would be funny if these idiots derailed their expensive locomotive and destroyed it and tracks.

Who said to show videos of dummies being killed? YOUR idea.

  • What a force!

  • lucky i got those air bags installed..

  • and the driver was saying after impact 'wheres the van we were supposed to hit"

  • copy right from the FBI

  • why is there a 2nd diesel behind the other diesel-was that a camera mistake. There were lots of complaints about that Top Gear but I don't see a problem with trying to teach people not to play chicken at level crossings

  • @tom201090 The second diesel pushed the diesel that hit the car, so as to get it moving as safety won't allow a driver to be in the diesel that crashed into the car.

  • @KitsuneProductions thats interesting. Do you think this video deserves the criticism it got because I think it is probably the one piece of useful//sensible information/demonstration Top Gear have come up with.

  • @tom201090 The front locomotive was being pushed by the second one. When they got close, the second loco hit the brakes and let the unmanned unit slam into the car.

And I agree, I think vids like this should be done more often to show people that a ~3000lbs car has no match against a loaded fright train weight 1000's of tons.

  • and that was just the engine imagine it with all the cars in tow

  • A very good demonstration!!!

  • you DONT wanna be in a car stressed if a train come at you :O damn it gone trought the whole carr !!!

  • My God>. would it be okay to have the car for free? hehe yeha safety driving ! I campaigne!

  • you gotta love jezza

  • they would've had to scape the remains of the front seat passenger off the front of that train if people would have been inside...talk about an instantaneous death.....

  • train is to car, as car is to soda can. To all of you drivers out there, keep that in mind.

  • holy crap

  • Tank vs train anyone?

  • @bobbysam232 the train will crumple and so the tank. But that train weighs between 95-100 tonnes, the heaviest tanks wouldn't weigh more than 70 tonnes

  • @toyotaprius79

Nothing to do now to much mass

Is suggest you run or maybe shoot the train x3 that won't work thou lol

  • c norris would survive this!

  • @badblue1986 I know a shouldn't say this but now he can't, 95tonnes @ 80mph be realistic.

  • @toyotaprius79

dude i think it should be 80kmph

  • the driver might have been okay.

There should be an air bag in the middle

  • @Extreme105 even if there were an airbag on it side or not, the structue of that van would of still went threw and squash that plastic drivers seat, and or the metal felxing up and the seat belt attached to the floor get pulled and chop the driver in half :O =D

  • dam that should make a person think twice before trying to get across before the train does

  • szegény csiga...

  • OMG MAGCARGO DX NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • damn

  • I really don't think a 5 star safety rating means much when you get run over by a train. Maybe they should get 5 muslim extremists and tell them they are going on a mission and their train will be along any minute.

  • gloups !

  • owned

  • Show Me The Carfax

  • @Heavymetalhero91 I think in this case they would call it the cartrax

  • clearly you didnt make it

  • It's amazing that they give drivers licences to asian female drivers.

  • no car or truck would survive a train collision

  • a garenteed death

  • 1st Mission of Emergency 2! ^^

  • holly fucking shit!!

  • Yes I know, you would be dead in an accident like this but the car hold up well, if you think that a Mercedes would brake in half...

  • But the car stil has enough space.... look at 2:03

  • @legioner9 Although think of the impact.

  • @legioner9

Have fun trying that out if that is enough space...

  • gf passenger

  • It actually caught the car and dragged it along. I bet they didn't plan that. It's lucky it didn't derail.

It made a bit of a mess of the trackbed too by the look of it.

  • U got absolutly no chance agains a train, it would smash into a car o lorry with ease

  • Is this from Top Gear?

  • @Darkgod171990

yes it is, it is kind of a parody, but it is still stating a message imo

  • That poor snail...

    :(

  • ey?

  • @PressAltF4OrElse dont worry he was a hermaphrodite she had it coming

  • why did the last sign was in hebrew? and fuck the car just...died!!

  • what's the name of song?,please....and remember...drive safely...

  • YOU ARE DEAD!!!

  • Not if you're stupid enough to be sat in your car running the red lights at a level crossing you can't..............ddin't you see the total destruction that the train caused? Nobody would have survived that.

  • Hahaha

  • Just like you can survive lava from a volcano by practicing "Duck and Cover".

  • You know that old saying in America that a car vs. a train is like a soda can vs. an 18-wheeler? Perfect example right there.

  • umm..actualy i would say more like soda can vs a fast tank..

  • instant death right there

  • don't fuck with a train

  • 1:53 H O L Y S H I T

  • which season n episode is this of topgear?

  • new coat of paint,, new side skirts and its as good as new !!

can anybody tell me how it calls?

  • i wonder if at a 0:46 they put that snail on there for a joke also the guy in the front is a douche lolz

  • hammer out that fender and car is good as new

  • The front prongs went all the way through the van

  • All dead ! 4 sure.

  • here comes the boom!!!

  • 1:15 is there another train behind it?

  • no, there is no other train

  • yes there is. its even been proven by Clarkson himself

  • dead instant

  • no way a human can survive that crash, i bet u 100%

  • u wrong

  • ya passenger would probly be dead almost instantly

  • it got turned into a plow

  • Holy schniznit. There's just no contest. An intact van one second,.. a split second later, a scrap heap of metal. You see all the gravel it plowed up in the process?

  • top gear

  • Thanks!

  • Where exactly did this video come from? What show was this?

  • the show is called top gear.

  • Thanks!

  • Did anyone else notice that he was wearing two helmets?

  • game over

  • human ketchup......

  • OMG THE SNAIL! :(

  • you f***** dead

no one can get out a live from there

  • trains are smaller in the uk

  • 1:09 hier om zal Een overweg die aan het openen is onmiddellijk terug sluiten. Anders loop je het risico dat de trein al op de overweg staat voor dat deze gesloten is

voorbeeld is film Spoorwegovergan g Breda

  • geh mal zum psychater

  • haha it's clarkson

  • unreal safe this!!

  • Very good video.

  • why he wear 2 helmets? 0-0

  • Double safe :D

  • Just another reason to use Gieco...lol

and btw, i saved the snail!

  • If that dosn't kill you, the bill for a new train will ^^

  • I don't think that you need a new train. You will have to fork out for the repairs of it.

But still. It's going to coast a lot. And on top of that you have to pay for the penalty as well which said 1000 GBP.

  • Did somebody save the snail?

  • I cant think of a better use for a renualt,i bet i broke down on the level crossing anyway!

  • that was the one of the segments on TOp gear, its a funny car show on BBc, & yes he made it, he is on of the hosts on Top Gear, they were told by their producers to make this segment, because of a fatal train crash a few days before. the segment was just to show how dangerious runing the R/R lights & signals can be, to a family car, sedan , van, etc..

  • i wonder if the slug made it?

  • it did, i saved it

  • It is the equivalent a bicycle hitting a soda can.

  • ben dites donc les englishs pourquoi sacrifier unn renault espace? vous n'auriez pas pu prendre une bentley?
