the Sebring is the worst mid size car ever. Cheap interior, underpowered, low fuel economy(compared to others) cheap exterior(look at bumper crash test), one of the most unreliable. that's why there renaming it 200c and making it look diff. Hell Chrysler just sucks overall and this is coming from a previous sebring owner as well
@kompleti Actually, in the 2007-2010 Sebring the steering-wheel mounted controls are wrapped around the back, which means that you don't see them from looking straight ahead at the wheel. Instead, the familiar and intuitive feel of the buttons located behind the chrome bars on the wheel operate audio tasks and controls. Overall, a really cool car. I owned one.

The mileage on these models has been dismal though and the overall styling never caught on with most people. Their older Sebring design was actually sportier and "cooler" looking than this "old man's" version of it in this clip. They need to totally redesign the Sebring to get people to even look at it twice. Chrysler has offered way too little for way too long and they are going to totally miss out if they don't start to deliver some decent looking cars for 2011.
@meerkat006 Hopefully so. It's still a much bigger car than I would want to drive. I keep hoping they come out w/some smaller cars that can compete with the Ford Fiesta & Chevy Cruze.
This car is going to be redesigned for the 2011 model with removed ribs on the hood and other things. Then it will likely be replaced by the gorgeous Chrysler 200C EV in 2013 =D
I got the 2.7v6 2009 model. It is fast and gets good gas mileage. It also looks good and drives well, too. I don't know how long I will keep it, but I love it. I couldn't beat it for the price.
@WoZIMoo When first designed, the 2.7 had an oil sludge problem which since has been fixed. It had a problem and then people did not take good care of the car. It was a popular leased vehicle. I take good care of my cars and always have so this will not be a problem for me. People need to know these kind of things before purchasing a car. I have a 1995 Toyota Tacoma which is good for another 200 or 300 thousand miles.
@somewhatlongdong Absolutely untrue. The vehicle is not very popular, but this doesn't mean it's a lousy car. This vehicle is just not very popular, and has a very low maintenance cost compared to other midsize sedans/convertibles.
@somewhatlongdong According to your precious Consumer Reports, the Toyota Camry has higher maintenance costs than the Chrysler Sebring. Soon, it will be a moot point and ALL will see how Chrysler blows imports out of the water when they release the 2011 Chrysler Sebring (based on the stunning 200C concept) later this year. For the time being, GO SEBRING!
@2004SiennaAWD True, it was a bit chintzy in its earlier years. But, Chrysler is doing their best to improve the quality of their vehicles, so hopefully a 2010 might catch your eye and instill a sense of quality.
@SaabChrysler52 Are they redesigning the sebring soon? I believe that chrysler can make quality products because the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is stunning. So, i hope chrysler takes time on a new design...
@2004SiennaAWD Yes, they are. Chrysler is starting a brand-wide renovation of all vehicles. By 2012, there will not be one vehicle that is the same as Chrysler Corp.'s current lineup of Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge vehicles. The Sebring is due to be replaced by the 200C (although it may retain the Sebring name) and will feature a hybrid model (if all goes well.) Things are looking up at Chrysler, and yes, I agree: the Grand Cherokee is stunning. Also, an '04 Sienna is a nice ride.
@liddlebopeep First of all, I already acknowledged that the Sebring has not sold as many as the Camry or Accord. Second, which Chrysler executive said the Sebring was a failure? Give me a name. Also, in your free time, check out the all-new 2011 Chrysler 200. Based on the Sebring platform, various enhancements have made it MUCH better than its predecessor, the Sebring. So take a look!
I agree with nylander22. I just got the 2010 sebring touring in silver with a black interior. Got a great deal and the car is awesome. They did a FANTASTIC job with the dashboard and interior style in this model. And the cloth seats which are in the touring are more comfortable than the leather in the limited. GREAT CAR, 5 STARS, IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR A FUCKING DUMBASS.
So, this guy does know that if you rip at items they will pull apart, and that ALL leather makes you sweat in the summer?
As for the car, the interior styling is appealing to me, but needs better materials. The seats are indeed a bit too hard. The exterior is too gawky and unresolved. It's much less attractive than the prior two generations (Cirrus/Sebring). If it had beautiful styling, I am sure it would pull better reviews.
i have this as a rental right now, the 2.7L. iv had a lot of rentals because my car has been at the shop for 7 months, going from my G35 to this cars is dreadful. this one is the worse rentals to drive. the steering feels disconnected, suspension is like a boat and its actually slow. a nissan versa handles betters, a heavier mistubishi gallant is faster with less power and more weight and sitll handles better, and a hyundai senata is better looking on the inside and out and better built so sad.
Actually, most of the people who drive these as their everyday cars litterally cannot be "wankers"
C'mon, man. Nearly every major automotive review firm has trashed this car. I will refer you to CD's recent test of EIGHT of the Sebrings competitors, and the Sebring came DEAD LAST. You can't ignore that.
Also, don't go by if this comment has five thumbs down, because obviously most of the people actually watching this video already own one of these.
@17kmgone I am driving one as a rental. Its an aweful car! Slow as hell, the interior is really cheap plastic, and the steering is too light to have any feel.
@17kmgone I actually have driven a car like this a few times. It kinda sucks. European cars kick its ass. It's weak, cheaply made, and a bit ugly. The leather feels cheap, the plastic is awfull, the different pieces of the interior trim are not very well put together. The only thing about this car is that it turns heads here in Europe.
be more specific, i thought it looked nice. but people put it off without even evaulating it. are the newer models better? idk, looks nice on its website.
"be more specific."Uh okay, not the way I would have put it. The engines are far less refined, powerful, reliable, & efficient than their counterparts, & are very loud. I think it looks but ugly. Apparently, the steering is poor, the interior is not even acceptable quality, the reliability is poor (neighbor has airbag problems- yikes!) it offers no value over the competition which is all far better. I believe there are 2 major comps of this car v everyone and the Avenger+Sebring placed dead last
1 the headliner if u move it with your hand its gona fucking come off dipshit. 2. the plastic im sure u can remove that and get something at pepboys and 3 the stearing wheel if it gets hot you can just buy a cover yet again pep boys.

According to consumer reports, Chrysler products are the biggest pieces of shit on the market. Financial reports also show that there's a 90% chance of total bankruptcy for this company by end of july 2009. I feel so smart for being a life-long Nissan/Infiniti supporter in times like these. Thanks to POS Chrysler for contributing to our economic hardships. May you rest in pieces.
You're crazy. I drive a 2008 Grand Cherokee, which is a Chrysler product. And it's really well built. I guarantee you my Jeep is a lot sturdier than anything European/Japanese.
You fucking idiot think about the hardships people will have when they are out of work because Chrysler goes under. You should be ashamed. You can't even support your own country. I bet you know someone who is employed by Chrysler.
So you're calling me an idiot for not supporting my country by not supporting POS CHRYSLER PRODUCTS THAT ARE PROVEN TO BE DANGEROUS AND VERY LOW QUALITY????..Actually, seriously, you're the one's that the real idiot.
Actually, you fuckin redneck nancy...You're the one's that a fudgepacker cause you support POS gayass Chrysler that takes a fricken year to get to 60 MPH..LOL..Only real men like myself drive Infiniti G37's that trump anything in it's way with power/performance and quality..NISSAN POWER..GET WITH THE PROGRAM NANCY.
nissan power lol....until a 300c flys by you and you shit your fuckin diaper.
seriously, stop rationalizing. you bought a g37 which was made in japan, your not supporting your country, so just let it go. chrysler makes great cars...i dont understand how you think they're dangerous.
I would like to see something come from Chrysler other than cheap plastic panels stuck to the frame with mashed potatoes. I've got a '95 Sebring and the interior is just peeling away (exposing the ugly glue marks that remind you how cheap it really is). But all in all, i've never seen better strength and durability when it comes to the mechanical parts of the car. If you were considdering buying one just keep this in mind.
imo a review is soposed to make a car look good not bad, so this is crap review, try to read a car magazine or something if you're interested in buying it
What the hell are you talking about? A review is supposed to tell you the strengths and weaknesses of something, and whether or not it would be worth buying opposed to other cars.
just dont listen to what these guys say, it's a middle range sedan so u cant expect for it to be perfect, but its not awful either, i just went today to a chrysler showroom and i was pretty impressed, it has some awesome looks tho
Tester clearly does not know much about driving as he says it goes round corners well when it just does not it is woefull we had a day and sent it back it was that bad and the styling is not even that great either he is american though so he would give it a good review just buy a passat or a mondeo for the same money they are far superior in every aspect.
My dad got stuck with one of these here in the UK and what a piece of crap it handles like a skip the interior quality is awfull and the car seems to have been put together buy a bunch of monkeys can see why nobody buys them overhere and yet in america they sell quite well shows they have a lower standard of car in my opinion.
15,000 WTF you on about in the UK it retails for 19,000 pounds for the 2.0 crd diesel (which they steal of VW) my dad had for that money you could have a ford mondeo titanium, mazda 6 sport, volvo s40 r design all cars that are vastly superior and at a similar price and I would expect a lot more for the cash when buying with my own money. Yes sure if it cost 10k english would consider but would rather buy a used mondeo etc... than be forced to buy this piece of rubbish.
Ouch! your idiot father got ROBBED at the dealer. In america you can pick this trash up for under $15,000 easy! (domestic cars are dirt cheap)...its well valued for its size and features.
base model 2.4L V4 (4 speed engine with automatic transmission) ive seen them advertising for 12,000! (15,000 on the road)
diesels are usually more expensive but 19,000british pounds is just stupidness on your fathers part. (was it at least the convertible?)
No my dad did not buy it was a hire car he had when started a new job he would never spend that much money on it new as naff car for the money and the deprecation it has in its first year over here is truely horrific. If was about 8k british pounds as seems around in america not bad basic transport for the money I suppose and after a few years suppose you could just scrap it and get a new one but at the price it is at in the UK no one is going to buy it next to a top spec mondeo.
i looooooove my sebring limited<3 great car! terribly under rated though..

Nissan/Infiniti can go to hell.

I agree with the rubbery seats and cryslers are well known for having their ceilings come apart.
frankenstein04 3 years ago
I like the styling, but why do they keep putting that hard plastic on the top part of the steering wheel?

The 3.5 in this car is responsive and satisfying, but why the EGJ?? not the EEG V6?? Come on Chrysler.
TKOxPITCHBlAk 3 years ago
VW build is far better, got test one tap the plastics pannels, they are cheap....
chitpaul 3 years ago
I would like to see something come from Chrysler other than cheap plastic panels stuck to the frame with mashed potatoes. I've got a '95 Sebring and the interior is just peeling away (exposing the ugly glue marks that remind you how cheap it really is). But all in all, i've never seen better strength and durability when it comes to the mechanical parts of the car. If you were considdering buying one just keep this in mind.

imo a review is soposed to make a car look good not bad, so this is crap review, try to read a car magazine or something if you're interested in buying it
ac0n1tum 3 years ago
What the hell are you talking about? A review is supposed to tell you the strengths and weaknesses of something, and whether or not it would be worth buying opposed to other cars.
Tanner874 3 years ago
just dont listen to what these guys say, it's a middle range sedan so u cant expect for it to be perfect, but its not awful either, i just went today to a chrysler showroom and i was pretty impressed, it has some awesome looks tho
ac0n1tum 3 years ago
Rent these while on my USA road trips from the UK, it does the job, no problems, plenty of room in them, not bad gas mileage.
johncliffe39 3 years ago 2
Tester clearly does not know much about driving as he says it goes round corners well when it just does not it is woefull we had a day and sent it back it was that bad and the styling is not even that great either he is american though so he would give it a good review just buy a passat or a mondeo for the same money they are far superior in every aspect.
greggy50 3 years ago
My dad got stuck with one of these here in the UK and what a piece of crap it handles like a skip the interior quality is awfull and the car seems to have been put together buy a bunch of monkeys can see why nobody buys them overhere and yet in america they sell quite well shows they have a lower standard of car in my opinion.
greggy50 3 years ago
ur an idiot for saying that about americans. maybe your parents are idiots for birthing you
WAYMON2010 3 years ago
im with waymon...you are a fucking idiot
this car is not the greatest but what do you really expect for 15,000?
Garbage101 3 years ago
15,000 WTF you on about in the UK it retails for 19,000 pounds for the 2.0 crd diesel (which they steal of VW) my dad had for that money you could have a ford mondeo titanium, mazda 6 sport, volvo s40 r design all cars that are vastly superior and at a similar price and I would expect a lot more for the cash when buying with my own money. Yes sure if it cost 10k english would consider but would rather buy a used mondeo etc... than be forced to buy this piece of rubbish.
greggy50 3 years ago
Ouch! your idiot father got ROBBED at the dealer.
(was it at least the convertible?)
cars are just cheaper in america (less tax)
Garbage101 3 years ago
No my dad did not buy it was a hire car he had when started a new job he would never spend that much money on it new as naff car for the money and the deprecation it has in its first year over here is truely horrific. If was about 8k british pounds as seems around in america not bad basic transport for the money I suppose and after a few years suppose you could just scrap it and get a new one but at the price it is at in the UK no one is going to buy it next to a top spec mondeo.
