  • first time ever hearing anything from her. i instantly love this song!

  • A truly fantastic piece of work, I have to say. I heard this about a year ago, and I still love it.

  • Saw her open for Ani DiFranco about a month ago in Chicago. It is something I will remember for the rest of my life.

  • I loved it/this myth has figured in my writings and poetry and teaching/the myth set to music and its wonderful words and rhythms is a treat

    Thanks,

    Robert Romanyshyn

  • Thanks a lot for this upload and the beautiful simple video to accompany it.

What a wonderful artist Anaïs Mitchell is and what a refreshing folk opera!!!

  • i really enjoyed this little video you made. :) thank you for uploading!

  • Just saw her peform this earlier tonight in SF. Easily my favorite song of the night. Great show!

  • I was watching Session Americana playing a few weeks ago.... This girl was setting beside me writing furiously... yes writing ( not texting) ... she seemed to be digging the music alot. About halfway thru the show, she gets up onstage and they play this song off her new album... I was blown away, what a treat. She' got a bit of a squeeky voice, but her collaboration with Session Americana for a live version of: Anais Mitchell doing HadesTown was very cool.

  • the best song of 2010 and its about my city: Amsterdam, Holland

  • @ScaryHairyJerry Really? How so? ;p I probably missed that part haha.

This song is awesome though! First time I listened to it it sounded so familliar, I wonder from where.

  • @ScaryHairyJerry Personally I think the song more fits the world of YouTube :)).

Amsterdam is a very friendly city, I lived there myself for ten years and still love it.

I agree that this is a great song. I love other songs from this album too, like Why We Build The Wall and Hey Little Songbird. Music with very relevant messages.

  • makes me want to dance! great song :-)

  • I saw her at the Blue Room in Indiana, and I knew at that point that she was one of the most talented individuals of our generation. If she doesn't become a household name soon I will be surprised.

  • luv luv!!

  • big fan. I've had her at house concerts.

  • Sounds so so much like old Bob Dylan

  • Man that's swingin'! Tune reminds of King Louis in Jungle Book!

  • i luv this album!! and this song!!!

  • Love it!
