I'm temping at a warehouse right now until I find a more permanent position in my field. It's not bad, but that's the thing. It's SO not bad it barely warrants any further mention. Certainly makes you re-focus on what you want to do with your life. About an hour or two into an average work day you think "I could be doing something meaningful".
In that U.S. thats how they do business. Bring in temps, not only they like part timer working full time days, if they don't get the desired chemistry from them they can ask for a replacemet.
Of course when they eventually find a temp they like alot of biz will hire them for perm positions. So temping is one of the better ave to a permanent gig
Some agencies if you don't like the job you get a different assignment.
I had a temp to hire job that got me fifteen bucks an hour.
