Hello Graham...Looks like takara is releasing another version of MP starscream called Coronation starscream (due date is sometime in March)...it is a new resculpt removing the hip kibble ...looks to be a new simplified F15...hopefully this means takara will finally release the cone heads since the competition Igear beat them to the punch...takara needs to quickly evolve or its competitors will eat some of their potential profits

Not a bad figure, I love the nose cone transformation. Nicely true to G1 :)

The kibble thing is a disaster, and I either detach them, or attach them to the legs via the pegs there. It looks better, but it can no longer stand, so the hovering pose is the only option. Did you know that was an option Grahem?

@CaptFlanimal i didnt think about doing that, i just take them off and hide them behind him on the shelf lol. i like the ko versions that have come out and have sorted the horrible leg thing out in the best way

I replaced the poor quality cape with some purple felt. cost about $2 and is so much better than the original one that frays just looking at it.

Indeed much better then the Jap version. Got the cor. set also. The cherrie on top,

on this beautifull piece. Its a shame about the leg flaps.

The set for Skywarp is pretty ok. Dont know why they made it, but ok.

@sgtJonTrooper you had to buy the cape, shoulder pads and the crown seperate. there was a seller seeling from japan a few years ago. you should still be able to get them

actually, you CAN transform him with dr Archivvle in it.

Also, how do you get the rear landing wheels out, the ones on my skywarp are so tight they wont open. Does his head get stuck on your aswell or is it just mine?

@Nintendo7676 The head getting stuck is a problem with the mold it. As for MP Skywarp the landing gear just flip down but if you have the hasbro release from walmart the landing gear in the back are EXTREMELY tight. The first time i got them out on both my hasbro skywarps i had to use a small screwdriver carefully.

My first one was full retail of 60 usd and he stays in jet mode cause of stress marks on the wing joints the other was on clearance for 30 and shelfwarming so he stays in bot mode :D. And for the landing gear you do not have to remove screws you need to pry. I say carefully to not damage him

@Nintendo7676 the head has trouble clearing his body during transformation also. and those landing gear wheels are a bitch. on my jap starscream i cant remember ever being able to get them out.

I didn't get the American version but the Japanese version does have painted missiles in his chest.

I must say i really prefer the Hasbro MP Skywarp with the matte finish as opposed to the gloss of Takara's. Still great mold and great figure and great review!

@havanowoncheese cheers mate, i like the paint apps for the wings better on the hasbro version. i have a thing for gloss black. prob why i like the binaltechs over the alternators just because it was painted metal and was so shiney
