You dont need to do all that. You gain 1 exp when you get a pupil, and 1 when they level up. You only get 1 exp from 1 pupil in a day, so if you make lots of pupils in 1 day you'd only get 1 exp
If you want a Wolf or a Bear you can use these two characters to pupil with

They have a bear wich increases YOUR chance to get a bear or wolf, try leveling some brutes to 3 or 4 and there's a big chance you will get 1 of these pets.
