The whole reason that launch control exists is for marketing. When you use it in your GT-R two of three times the trans goes and its a voided warranty. Any 911 will launch and more all day long. For its driver, not the kids watching. The GT-R IS a good value car, which has achieved a lot, but its no 911.

New 2012 GT-R model time is 7:21, while Carrera GT is at 7:28, even first model was faster than Porsche (7:26.70 driven by Nissan's test driver Toshio Suzuki). In fact Porsche was constantly accusing Nissan of falsifying results, because they couldn't believe relatively cheap and fully equipped (therefore rather heavy) gt car could be that fast without modifications. Not many "every day" cars can compete with Nissan, that's a fact.

A "RICE CAR" is a often modified cosmetically to give a false impression on performance, but is not capable of doing it, which are cars that costs cheap, cheaply made with cheap aftermarket parts with ridiculous spoilers, bodykits etc etc.. So what if Japan hasn't made a car that can do 2.8sec to 60MPH or 240MPH. They make cars that are affordable.
