It's totally different, but the movie's don't suck surprisingly lol. Sometimes books turned movies suck, these films are pretty good. But Night watch and Day watch are from the first book if I remember correctly. So these two movies are basically Night watch based.

when night watch was finished, the director said there'll be Night watch 2 and 3, but in the end it was decided that they'll be united as Day watch, so Gloom watch is not comming(or what it's called in eng) I'm russian so i know 4 sure))
