I own the J&H, I think it is great. I'm not entirely sure what the noise gate does and how turning it on or off would chance my sound. It'd be great if you can help me out with a brief explanation
@ferchomdo61 Some like the Wah before distortion and some like it after, depending what your taste, I suggest putting it at the beginning of the chain... and if you don't have one, a 1SPOT combo pack would power it all and not weigh a ton...
Yes... it is one of them. They also use the Double Trouble and the Visual Volume as well as several others in the studio. But the Jekyll & Hyde has been their main pedal since they began.
this sounds like something that could work for driving blues and metal, which would be perfect for me. how mold-able are the sounds possible with this?
Thanks for your question. For all the V2 Series pedals, it's the Workhorse Stallion by Visual Sound. We no longer make that amp, but it was a great clean 2-12 60 watt amp.
hey i have the stallion the 30w and i have this same pedal but i have an RG ibanez and im looking for the pure power setting you had, where are your knobs on the amp when you played this demo?
Visual Sound makes the best pedals I've ever heard, period! I'm a 30 year old musician who has been at it for a long time and been around the world. Nobody, I mean NOBODY beats the tone from these guys. One of the guitarists in my band is using this pedal, along with their H20 pedal. As soon as our record deal is finalized, I believe he's going to contact them to see about artist relations. I just wish they made something for bass. I know it'd be great.
Any good tube amp. Fender deluxe VM is a good choice. Once you get into tubes prepare to spend a bit more money though. More find the style you like. Fenders are very versatile. I prefer an authentic over amp modeling any day of the week. I HATE amp modeling.
@blody69 they used to make amps called the Workhorse amps. Absolutely amazing, but sadly no longer on the market. If you find one on e-bay GET IT! it's the PERFECT amp to use with pedals
I like the MID down DIST, it cranks. For me its hard to use the OD with the DIST, I also got the Route 66 so I can use the same OD and a Comp in front of the Hyde as well, nice boxes, my favs. If you like the Strat Blues, SRV thing the Double Trouble or Route 66 is it. The VS OD is the best a real nice 808 type with a bass boost if you want. The Hyde Dist is cool, I am sort of stuck on the MIDS down Drive up tone, really a great metal tone.
Man, this is amazing! I already own this pedal but had this review been here when I was looking I would have bought it even sooner. GREAT REVIEW for the tonal range this pedal will produce!!!!!
Is this the same kind of overdrive in the route 66?

Hey! i'm gonna add the jekyll & hyde (AWSOME pedal by the way! congratulations! ) .. to my pedal chain, which is currently (in this order):
Boss chromatic tuner, Dunlop crybaby 535q wahwah, ibanez tubescreamer TS9 vintage, Proco Rat II, Boss NS2 noise suppresor, Line 6 Dl4 delay.
I was wondering if you could help me where to put the J&H in my chain.
Thanks!

@VisualSoundUSA , is there a bigger list of stock settings out there?
I am not that good at finding a good sounding tone myself.

@timeless812 I guess you'll just have to keep trying. Trust me, there's nothing like dialing in your own perfect tone. Get crackin'!

To me it would be very interesting because I already own a Route 66. So, I'd have two 808, a compressor and a Hyde in only two pedals.
