TDI Turbo sound 1st 2nd gear

I want that sound sooo BAD!!!

I got a 06 POLO TDI PD130 , straight pipe no backbox or cat and i STILL dont get this SOUND! WHY!!!?

I have heard that its got to be a hybrid turbo?? the surge makes that sound? Is this true? i know the GOLF 4 TDI's have different motors and turbos to the polos here in SA, The polos run a small VNT 17 smaller than the one on the cupras VNT17, But the golfs run GT17something something cant remember. Could it be the actual TURBO that makes this sound??

i got a 1.9 tdi cordoba with a full remus exhaust and a cold air intake

and the turbo sounds way diffrent, i get more of a 'compressed air being released' sound wich sounds so much better

No pop off valve! VNT diesels do not have pop off valves. I guess its somewhat common on diesels. That's what a TDI sounds like with out the muffler in the back, and the particulate canister still on.

Diesels do not have catalytic converter's, they have a particulate canister. That is what you see towards the front of the vehicle underneath (VW Jetta TDI) and mistake it for a cat.

I helped a friend do this to his TDI Jetta, we just cut before the muffler and piped it back with a 2.5 OD pipe.

Hey man yeah lol I took the resenator cat and muffler off mine- it sounds like a kazoo! lol but I wanted to ask whered you get those RIMS from, they kinda look like mine only with one extra spoke that I like very much!

so you can keep the cat and just cut off the resonator and muffler and through pipping back and youll get this affect does it ever through codes or do you need to tune after you do this?

@wideloadalmost None of that was done. Just aftermarket muffler and remove EGR. That is the sound it makes now.

@masterjedi32 How did you keep the computer from throwing a code when you removed the EGR? The EGR has a flow sensor.  I would love to block my EGR...

a potentiometer on the fuel pump, result: 174BHP and 284 LBS of torque !!!

fuck howd you get it to sound this sweet im considerng buying a tdi but i dno man...arnt they low rpms, slow, and sound like tractors...i want ti to flutter like this 1....if u do have a fake blow off valve tell me what it is also hehe

it sounds like a surge, or a blow off valve, NO tdi with a VNT will sound like that. Specially at those low RPM.

not a fake blowoff, haha.. VNT turbos sound like that when you get back out of the throttle.. Some big rigs have that sound as well
