The Royals got both number 3 Melville and number 4 Hosmer in this draft. Interesting that the 1B they took could be a 94 mph LHP, and the P they took could be a 3B. Zack Greinke was a great SS whn they took him as a P, and to this day he's frustrated that he doesn't get to hit. Hosmer had Lasikeye surgery this summer and Melville was fantastic at A ball.

I don't know about the better one, as of now Gordon is far more polished and has proven himself at a very high level. Tim has more upside than Gordon, but I feel the Rays might take the same route as they did with Upton, and convert him to an outfielder.

we have great outfielders so I don't think they'll switch him yet. The rays need a hitting shortstop and I think he's the future.
