When i got tired of my dreads i didnt shave my head. I let the roots grow out alittle longer than a bald/shaved looked and cut them off. I literally felt light headed.

@Rastagromit Hardly being spoiled. I was ready to get rid of them. I have much more awesome dreads now and im happy with the year where i didnt have them. I dont find it humiliating at all, its rather pleasant and liberating for me to watch a year of my life in pictures.

@DHwilllz Crocheting does make such a mad difference when starting them with backcomb or twist and rip... but it does change the texture, and damage the hair slightly . But yeah if you were doing them backcomb or twist and rip, i would crochet to get out of the messy stage ;) And i sectioned my hair indeed!

@gborn01 Change is always a good thing mate, but its your choice. Its only hair at the end of the day, just a lot of emotional and symbolic ties you got too them. They dont make you who you are. Dont let hair be a burden, if you love it, keep it, if not, theres no harm in change.

I've had dreads almost 2 months. They are not locking up at the root so I crochet them and it's like knotts for 2 or so inches then dread. HOW DO I MAKE THEM ALL DREAD AND GROW INTO DREADS?!

@tylerabbott Just fiddle with the roots loads, try washing bathing your dreads in water with some sea salt in, then fiddle with the roots and clockwise rubbing of each dreads roots. The salt helps it all knot up, and then you can wash a few days later like normally :) Time will help you man! It all knots up in the end!

hey man so i finally got them put in, i have like 45 i think and so far theyre great. one question though. When you say you crochet alot are you just talking about pulling in loose hairs and stuff or actually like tightening the bodies of the dreads? like the poking method haha

@MrBudda1210 Crochetings where you use the hook to pull in loose hairs wherever! I used it for the first few months all over, but now im just using it on the roots! Basically, ball up any loose hair, and use a crochet hook to pull it tightly into a dread :D

@MrBudda1210 I only used like, 3 rubber bands... but i took them out pretty early. And i never waxxed man. I washed alot, i used salt water mixtures too which really help locking up. And i crochet a lot
