  • whats the 'usual' tempo of this piece? I am considering learning it for a guitar exam. This sounds like it is around 220bpm!

  • @bleedinfingers I'm learning it for my exam it's 152

  • awesome.

  • I could never imagine that this video would one day reach

the internet :) What a surprise!! This was filmed by my friend

Carlos in Barcelona while delivering the guitar I'm playing here.

...a long time ago. Thanks everybody for the comments ;) I have to

say that I don't play like this anymore, laziness I guess!

p2nches, I'm just curious, where did you find this clip?

    Thanks for hosting it anyway.

    cheers, javier

  • @JHIslander I think I found it on the Internet, too. I hope you don't mind my posting it here. Thank you, Javier.

  • @p2nches Hi there! No, not at all, I'm happy to read all the comments ;) cheers,

  • Amazing, really good rendition!! One thing I haven't found in the comments

besides being a good player is the fact that this guy is actually a guitar maker.

I tried one of his guitar long time ago. Very clear and powerful instruments with

lot's of similarities with Fleta, like the one he is playing here. I still remember

his Villa Lobos No2 Etude, he make it look so simple!

  • Javier is very muisical with good understaning of the musical style of Scarlatti. I have discovered from these recrdings that I prefer the guitar to the harpsichord in many of the sonatas.

    Un hora buena.

  • so smooth

    I like it

  • way too fast. you lose the musicality and lilt of the piece. clearly have technical skill though

  • It's not too fast....Listen to some other players, like John Williams....He plays it about the same tempo

  • mi piace

  • lovely

  • Very Nice! Best K. 322 yet! Congrats! Just work on a little bit of musicality throughout. Its a little bit too straight forward and I think you should but more dynamics and phrasing. Overall GREAT JOB!

  • Awesome, I feel it's abit too fast

  • Very nice rendition!! I like it a lot.

  • very clean..congratulations..my husband also plays this pieces...but even estudying music..I invite you to checks my videos

  • Very good playing you got there :). I really enjoyed it

  • watch tone and tempo heading into the second section, you might want to slow down for your own sake. some parts were shaky.

  • donde conseguiste la partitura??? quisiera tocar esa pieza pero la partitura que yo tenia me la robaron y ya no la he conseguido :(

  • Until I let my playing go 10 years ago I used to play this, but not as well as this! I think the timing is perfect - any faster would be too fast.

  • Great playing! very clean

I just started playing the same piece

  • Makin' it look easy!!

  • oh..this is the first time i listen Scarlatti keyboard sonata on a guitar.. that's amazing! thanks for posting it.

  • you can to play this piece fast, but you must play with Dynamics (piano, forte, crescendo and diminuendo)

because without Dynamics it's very boring...

    but you play beautifuly!

  • fantastic job!

  • very very nice !

    check my vids

  • If you can hold the tempo and play it cleanly, go ahead and play it fast. It's Scarlatti. Baroque is about accuracy, rhythm, and delineation of voice. I thought the tempo was perfect, and it didn't waver once.

That was wonderful, thank you. Were are more videos? You're one of the best guitarists on here!

  • basses are bit too loud, but very clean.

  • Too fast.

  • What areyou crazy, it wasnt to fast it was amazing, and i have been playing for the past 23 years

  • Okay, then it is too slow.

  • After 23 years of playing, you must be very tired.
