i hate when comments that say something like , 'i don't like this language, but i like this video ' song est , get all the thumbs up. i mean , why would you not like a language? maybe because you are too lazy to leard it.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah, this is so funny , maybe if they had someone more natural it would sound more natural, but german accent is not so easy to hide...bravo Jungs!
I think it's great to hear Latin spoken by people from all over; it gives me a better idea of what it should really sound like, to be able to filter through various accents and extract what is fundamentally Latin in essence, and best of all to better appreciate all languages as they play off of each other. I think this sort of culture-crossing is the greatest blessing of living in this age.
I don't see the point in this video, in fact... because Latin... where is it spoken? I mean, studying it is a great tool for understanding Latin languages and for translating... but, it is very useless as a language itself!
By writing this, I tried to answer some previous comments related to its pronunciation.. These two boys pronounced it in a really german-like way, but who SPEAKS latin to say if it's right or wrong? hahaha... it is just useful for translations and studies..
@LucretiaEv That is a very ignorant comment....I guess English and Spanish and a host of other languages are useless...why understand Latin, huh?? Perhaps there are some people in this world who appreciate deepening their understanding of language, history, and culture...

German Erasmian Latin sounds like German. French Erasmian Latin sounds like French. And American Erasmian Latin sounds like English. Anyone speaking with a reconstructed pronunciation is fooling himself if he thinks Cicero would recognize it as his own.
the idea of latin courses is awesome, and i love that language. great job. the only thing I'd suggest is use poeple whose mother tounge are romanic languages (italian - spanish, mostly) ... they sound with a very german accent. Anyway, good job :)

Well, it really helps with a lot of other languages. For example, I took two years of latin and was able to connect a lot of what I learned then with my French studies later. It even helps with englsh a little bit, and a lot with learning root words which can help you memorize vocabulary. =)
mm I think the pronunciation would be better and more spontaneous with italian or spanish people, don't you?

Please check yor Latin courses.
jogomez1988 1 year ago
@jogomez1988 that's not true, if it's classical latin (not late latin) it should be always like "k"
