Every day, a random number between 0 and 65535 in hex (that is between 0x0000 and 0xFFFF) is generated by the game. If this number matches the last two bytes of the personality value of any of the Pokémon in the party in hex, Mirage Island will appear for that day. And yes I copied that from Bulbapedia.

@urbansamurai431 Ruby and Sapphire are already outdated. Its only a matter of time before it will be compltetly useless to migrate. Its hard enough to migrate from the 3rd gen to the 5th gen. Each gen will be remade. Dont forget that Nintendo and Game Freak loves money. They will lose money and fans if generation 3 wasnt remade. They gained a lot more fans after the release of HG/SS. Just because Hoenn wasnt as popular as johto and kanto, doesnt mean that its not going to be remade.

@InUyAsHaGlitchCity their won't be any hoenn remakes. the only reason kanto and johto had remakes is because they came on a system (GBC) that is 2 generations old and the pokemon on those games have a system that has been significantly changed. Those pokemon don't have EV (effort values), and you can max al of their stats. You can't do that anymore. They also don't have special abilities. Which makes them not tradable to the newer games. They were remade so people can get them.

The island has a 1 in 65535 chance in appearing daily, a number is generated by the game each day. If the number matches your trainer ID number, Mirage Island appears. The only thing MI contains are Wynaut from Level 5-50, and a Liechi berry tree.
