(best place to watch it: w w w . watchop . com , no spaces) Everyone thinks One piece is silly or stupid in the beginning, but if you stick to it long enough, you'll learn to love everything about it and it'll soon be your very favorite show ever. At least in my opinion.

tbh, that's kind of a shame.

If you've seen the Japanese version and compared it to 4Kids, it really took a lot of editing and revising that it didn't need, which took out some of the context or added something that was unnecessary and felt like it took away from the actual anime.

Plus, I honestly found the rap to get annoying very quickly. It may seem unfitting, but this theme is far more befitting of One Piece because it's really suiting of it: Carefree and joyful.

1) Not all theme songs need to introduce exposition. In fact, most anime themes I can think of (Haruhi Suzumiya, Death Note, Madoka Magica, etc.) discuss the more underlying themes and aspects that the theme's plot and characters center around than simply dumping exposition.

2) I understand they needed to edit stuff out. On the other side of that coin, WATCH THE SERIES FIRST AND CHECK TO SEE IF THERE'S VIOLENCE, 4KIDS! Seriously, this isn't a 'family-friendly' anime.

That's the whole reason why 4Kids didn't do that, because the plot of the show should somewhat stay "secret" to the viewers to make them watch it & hence give more ratings. 2) I agree, One Piece DEFINATELY isn't a family-friendly anime. I'm watching the funimation one & this theme is growing me alittle.

I can see what you're trying to say there. tbh, though, the exposition rap and the We Are theme can really just be put up to personal preference. Honestly, I feel that the latter is more befitting of the series and you can more easily associate One Piece to it, while the rap can become very annoying after a while, especially when you can see them changing it to accommodate newer people, sometimes making it better (Sanji's line was kinda nice) or worse (Chopper's line).
