  • Bought an "Annette's Greatest Hits" cd a few years back and got so hooked on it! Every song was really good. Such a sweet and talented woman.

  • She is a person that seems down to earth and not effected at all by her celebrity. Her inner beauty makes her even more physically attractive. Like many young boys in the 1950's I had a crush on her. It is so sad she has had to struggle with MS later in life. I am sure God has reserved a room for Annette Funicello in heaven.

  • my momm is named annette too

  • @ryanlikesdietcoke thanks for sharing, i like cheeseburgers.

  • Annette Funicello is better than Miley Cyrus by miles.

  • I believe Annette was on the mind of a lot of young men when the Mickey Mouse Club was on t.v. She was very pretty and a good actress.

  • It's sad that Annette is streken with MS there's no cure for MS even though she was good

in a few disney movies and Beach movies too she will awlays be Walt's favorite

    actrees years ago..

  • Many boys in the early 1960s pseudo-starched their home bathroom towels, when ending their beginner´s pull´n presses, while imaging Annette dressing tight clothing. The boys´ mothers were baffled and the only explanation they could bring up was that they had misplaced the starch in the detergent box !

  • Lovely ass

  • Thank you for a wonderful clip.

  • Like some of you here, I discovered Annette in the 1970s through the Mickey Mouse Club reruns and it was love at first sight. She was so pretty, so nice, and she could sing too! She recently had a fire in her home but she and her husband are OK. Take care Annette. I am a fan forever!

  • I agree, very nice lady

  • How old is she here? She looks fantastic!

  • She is so well-spoken, polite, and lady-like. Young girls should look up to her.

  • Most Elegant Woman - Dear Lady , we miss you so-

  • She sort of looks like Minnie Mouse.

  • i don't care what anybody says annettefunicello had a great voice thanks for these vidios

  • Annette was always a show stealer. Ever as a beginner on the MM Show, she was the prettiest girl there. As the show progressed and Annette grew up, all the guys gathered around the small TV sets to watch her "grow" . It is nice to see how sucessfull she became and was always one of the sexiest, most beautiful women on TV. She has always been a clean cut girl with clean roles, and I envy her lucky hisband.

  • Buon Natale, Annette......

  • Was this done before or after her MS diagnosis?

  • I love the Annette/Brian Wilson song. She is a classy woman. They broke the mold.

  • Annette is an American treasure.

  • I was SO in love with her ! She was WAY before my time, but MMC reruns in the 70's gave me my first crush. I saw a tabloid paper that said she might be dying soon ! Please somebody tell me that's not true !!!

  • @eartant

Your not the only one who "discovered" Annette in the 70's through the MMC reruns then fell in love with her after seeing one or two of the beach party movies, so did I fella & I was about 16 years old at the time. She really was a hot girl!! Or at least I thought so & still do to this day although that teanage crush has died down to a fan fondness over the years since then.

  • She sooooooo precious.

  • nice and good

  • My God, shes so stunning here!

  • i am pretty young in my teens but i love annete!!!!!!!peeple who are really young say anette us just and old lady.but i sayanette isnt an old lady she is,a legend and a wonderful lady!!!

  • You know who reminds me of Annette? Paula Abdul.

  • @Airsoftcleaner - Yes, I kind of see the resemblance, including the way she speaks.

  • @Pontius667 You sometimes I wonder if Annette is Paula's real Mother

  • She is a legend!

  • She is a sure swell lady! Highly admired! Xoxo

  • So lovely, so sweet, so wonderful. So undeserving of MS; so unfair!

  • It's to bad that Annette has MS.

  • I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!

  • Annette has multiple sclerosis, is very bad off, and you ought to be ashamed for making such a comment. Annette was wonderful lady. You just never know in life what's going to happen.

  • my dad was a little kid when he saw her on the mickey mouse club, he said she was absolutely beautiful, she's pretty good looking, but i dunno, she's not my type of good looking girl, maybe beacuse im a modern kid. lolz

  • @Xoronatus : most modern kids aren't into style and class. you wouldn't really understand.

  • I remember when I was 5, I saw Monkey's uncle. My mother told me that was Annette. I was so sad that Annette was an old lady because I no longer had a chance to marry her.

  • Yep! I am one of the millions of kids (then) that fell in love with this precious, beautiful, elegant lady. Still in love after all these years.

Annette, we love you. You are such a precious treasure in our hearts.

God bless you always dear lady.

  • Looks, brains, talent, class and a personality to die for. Man, she had it all, IN SPADES. They broke the mold when they made this lady. I was always smitten by blondes, but Annette was the exception. It's sad to see the trash that young people idolize today, Brittny, Madonna, Lady GaGa, etc.

  • Class act.

  • Annette is the coolest wholesome lady there is.

  • Classy Lady. Gave me an "Italian Girl" Jones that continues to this day. Thank you Annette!

  • "Happy Birthday!" 67 today. May God always bless you!

  • A total class act, God Bless her I hope she knows all the fans she still has that love her.

  • Linda !!! Amo a Anette Funicello !

  • All I can say is HOT HOT HOT!!

  • Dear Annette, You have always been my idol since the first time I saw you on Mickey Mouse Club. Now we are both old women, but you are still my idol.

    Sudsy

  • This woman is amazing. Totally an un-flawed person. It's sad how all the good people suffer and the bad don't. All celebrities should live by Annette. She was caring, thoughtful, amazing. You don't see truthful, amanzing people like Annette anymore, both celebs and people you meet in real life.

  • Annette was one of many young TV stars who recorded in this period, regardless of whether they could sing or not. I appreciate her honesty in this interview in regards to her vocal abilities, but of course Shelley Fabares and Paul Peterson (of "The Donna Reed Show") and Richard Chamberlain (of "Dr. Kildare") couldn't really sing either, and they made records too. And had hits! Still, it was a weird situation when producers forced people to perform when they didn't want to.

  • Anyone have the movie based on her book?

  • She is a GREAT role model! I have the complete show series, and I love it! She is so amazing!

  • As she grew older she just grew more gorgeous.

  • @waynebrasler I'll second that. I've loved Annette from the Mickey Mouse Club on. She was my first celeb crush. All the best, Annette.

  • Annette was my very first crush so many years ago.

  • Mine too!! She was one cute wonderful girl thats for sure....

  • I'm only 26, but I think she's awesome and a great role model to people all over the world! I only discovered her as a child via reruns of the old Mickey Mouse Club during the 80s on the Disney Channel, and God bless her and I know God is giving her the strength and blessings everyday! For some reason, i thought she had died already because I remember watching her TV movie biography as a kid, but thank God she's still alive and strong! God bless her!

  • I think Annette has always had a beautiful singing voice; she started singing at a very young age and it reached a very mature, full sound. She is a beautiful woman all around: so humble, gracious, and talented! She clung to her values and followed her heart and because of that she is a true role model. It pains me to know of her illness, but she is still young, only in her 60s, and perhaps there will be a cure and she can live another active 20 or so years. All we can do is hope for a miracle.

  • shes in a wheel chair now poor annette :(

  • I heard that she has lost her sight not, I hope this is not true. God Bless you Annette, you are a wonderful role model and we are wish you well, and our in our prayers.

Hopefully one day soon their will be a cure for MS. God Bless You Annette.

  • It's nice to hear her speaking voice again.

It's such a shame she has been silenced.

A Beautiful Woman - both inside and out!

  • ....and for some reason, I have a craving for SKIPPY PEANUT BUTTER!

  • What's the date of this interview?

  • She is a wonderful actress and singer...God Bless Her...

  • I heard her sing "Pineapple Princess" and she has a pretty hip voice!

  • She has MS - Multiple Sclerosis..... autoimmune disease.

  • she has MD. She is so pretty, God bless her

  • Yeah, I hear that Annette has got MS or MD, I get confused on the diseases, but she is still a young gal in her 60's. I think that she is tops and always love seeing her movies and proud to know that she is a native New Yorker from Utica, and me being from western New York makes it cool.

  • this is a good video

  • If you put Annette side by side with Sophia Loren, I would pick Annette, but it would be a close contest.

  • A real sweetheart.

The "double-track vocal style" that she used was later used very successfully by Leslie Gore. As a matter if fact, Leslie's hits sound very much like Annette records, with the double-track vocals and that whole big rock orchestra sound.

  • god i love the sound of her voice

  • Is she still alive

  • Yeah but she has some disease and shes so she's not doing so good these days :(

  • You'll all hate me for the mere mention, but if there was no Annette Funicello, there probably wouldn't be a Britney Spears, or a Hannah Montana. You're looking at the original "Disney Channel Star."

  • Excuse me...the original Disney starlet.

  • more like disney diva

  • There would be a Britney Spears I think because the Mickey Mouse Club never made her what she is now, a few years later after the MMC had finished she flew to New York and got a Record Deal herself.

  • Nice little bit of Beach Boys trivia there...oh, and Annette is a dream. No wonder Neil Sedaka wrote "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" about her.

  • Remembering ANNETTE the way she was before MS....What a fine,multi-talented artist... GREAT HISTORY LESSON! BTW: In the late Fifties,ANNETTE did a song called "Dance,Annette" on a "Disneyland After Dark" sequence. For that song, she did NOT use the Beach Boys...but instead,a studio band called The Afterbeats...however, nice to see the later effort with the Beach Boys. Also,an artist named Soyna Mendez (in Hawaii) later covered some of Annette's material.
  • Having written about Annette's singing career, this was wonderful to watch. Her modesty and frankness -- the core of her appeal - shine through so clearly here. What she didn't mention is she holds a unique legacy as one of the first female signing idols. That involved a wearying touring schedule which she never complained about. The girl who for months rode bussses and ate cold meals between shows never missed "diva treatment." She was simply happy to try her hardest and be proud of it.

  • A great interview with a beautiful classy lady!! She's still a big favorite:)

  • A great interview with a beautiful classy lady!! She's still a big favorite:)

  • what is this freom if u know e-mail me i need this

  • When she was on the MMC, she was my all time favorite.

  • I'd pick Annette over Britny any day.

  • Was Annette really the first to use double-tracking to boost a weak singing voice?

I remember a novelty song called "Short Mort" by a very young Carole King. Was that a parody of "Tall Paul"?

  • Les Paul pioneered multi-tracking and a number of hits by him and wife Mary Ford (in the early 50's)were done this way. Yes on the Short Mort question.

  • is she spanish???

  • Her ancestry is Italian.

  • This appeared on the original DisneyChannel (without commercials) for Annette's 50th birthday in October of 1992. By the way tomorrow's the day...Happy Birthday, Annette!!!

  • This is wonderful! What year is this from, do you know?
