Kids who feel they aren't being treated with respect (whether that's true or not) are going to react, and thank god they do. They show us their sense and passion. my mom enrolled me in a pagent when i was about 7 or 8. she already bought a dress and matching high heels. i hated being treated like a girly girl and i loved being welcomed as one of the guys at my school back then. she wanted me to be more girly. so when she told me about the pagent i reacted with grabbed the dress and cutting it up with scissors and throughing the high heels in dog shit in out back yard :)

I'm sorry, but based off this alone- Cassidy is hilarious. I have imagery of her fighting tooth and nail along every bit of this.. turning the tanning spray back on her mom, wiping make up off on the little dog, eating colored candy to turn a pristine mouth blue.. STILL 'working it' or whatever on stage.. then immediately running through mud to get to a tire swing. Just flat out "I'll go along with this shtick, but I'll be sure your hairs turn grey every day of it." I hope they all do it.

WTF!!! i have ADHD and i take pills not because it controls my "behavior" problem but because it helps me Focused in School where this little girl should be. People need to realize that ADHD is a LEARNING DISABILITY, NOT a behavioral problem.

She hasn't got a problem, she just resents being treated like a performing seal. Temper tantrums are not a result of poor parenting. Kids who feel they aren't being treated with respect (whether that's true or not) are going to react, and thank god they do. They show us their sense and passion. We need to guide them and respect them, showing them how to express their feelings appropriately.

unless my (future) kids have a severe mental disorder that they can tell me is interfering with their lives and happiness, i will never ever let anyone put a child of mine on a medication. i've had far too many friends with parents who put them on cocktails of anti-depressants, lithium, and adhd meds for imaginary problems because the assholes don't know how to deal with their own children.

I was placed on ADHD medications when I was 8 and it's fucked me up so badly that I have paranoia, anxiety and I have suffered from an eating disorder. Those meds are strong and have long ill-effects when taking them day after day, year after year. She's a fucking child, she is supposed to act like that!!

I feel sorry for the mom though, her other daughter died. She was on another show before this with her other daughter, and actually wasn't that into pageants(not the way she is now, her daughter was much more into it), I think she has a mental probelm due to her other daughter dying, and forces her daughter to do this, to replace the other one.

my mom enrolled me in a pagent when i was about 7 or 8. she already bought a dress and matching high heels. i hated being treated like a girly girl and i loved being welcomed as one of the guys at my school back then. she wanted me to be more girly. so when she told me about the pagent i reacted with grabbed the dress and cutting it up with scissors and throughing the high heels in dog shit in out back yard :)

I may not know so much about ADHD, but to me that's just a kid being a brat who hasn't been disciplined at all. Medications can't always cure everything, and to see this woman give her daughter pills to behave and win pageants makes me sick to the stomach....you'd think child protective service would knock on her door after seeing this....why aren't they?

i swear, 80% of the kids diagnosed with adhs do NOT have it. just parents who are unwilling to face the fact children are not always sweet and calm. and mostly, that their childrens behavious is a direct reaction to their OWN behavior and are unwillinh to change any of it.
i've tutored a lot of kids and witnessed it over and over.
