Reminds me of how I used to record music on my old Ensoniq TS10. I miss the wonderful user-friendly sequencer that allows me to quantize the notes. After selling TS10 to a second-hand store a few years ago, I have been looking for my dream synth workstation that has the same kind of user-friendly sequencer with quantize and loop functions, with USB storage capability. Maybe there will be one in the near future. Thanks for sharing this video.
Is that an ASR-X sitting on the desk? If so, why not use that for the drums? Just wondering, your current setup is still functional (I just hate using keys for drums).
YO NICE BEAT KEEEP IT UP... Hey, does n e body know the difference between using a MIDI Controler or a Standard Keyboard to make beats?>..???. wich one is better HOLA BACK!!!!!
A standard keyboard comes with sounds preloaded. A Midi keyboard controls synths on your computer, rather than clicking them in. A standard keyboard is nice but very expensive, a midi keyboard is cheap yet effective when played along a nice VST.
Great Vid, but I have a question. I use FL Studio, demo version for now, with a 49e Keystation Midi Controller. For example I would play a melody on my keyboard, but I want FL Studio to play the exact thing i'm playing on my keyboard. Basically, how do I record what I play on my keyboard?
Dayamn! I'm still rockin my MicroKORG + MPC2000XL and some audio capture stuff - holy crap - I guess I can throw it all away If I would ever buy me a midi controller :(
what do you need help with? i have fl studio 7 but i've been fooling with it for about like 5-6 months and it's hard but i know alittle something.I couldn't figure out reason when i tried it on the demo version.
Wow you just proved that with minmal time and effort you can produce a slammin beat no matter how basic. You just showed me I need some piano lessons (I am a former drummer and DJ) with about 30 beats so far. Damn I got a lot of comp out there but nothing is going to stop me from trying and improving (except maybe God). Got any advice to help me get better? but time is very imporant. I don't have that much left. I want to get out there ASAP!
Hot beat! i'm feeling that shit. Niggaz is sleeping on reason 4 real. It took me a while to jump on board but, I love reason now! i GOTTA HOOK UP VIDEO ONE OF THESE DAYS!
I wasn't sure about the drums you added until that kick came in...good shit. Only thing is I would've made the bass go up on the turnaround with the guitar. Holla!

didn't really like the beat, but you gave me a great idea for layering the kicks. I layer my baselines but never thought of layering kicks
