Whether this version is better or not people shouldn't diss Angela Bettis as Carrie. She really kills the part, I'm a huge King fan and I gotta say she might have even captured the character better for me. I think both versions of the movie do the novel and the story justice in different ways. Silly to bash one or the other.

I love this version because it showed much better how powerful Carrie was. She caused a meteor shower and then destroyed half the town. Much better impact than the original. But a part from the powers, I prefer the original.

This looks like a made for TV movie =/ the original is so so so much better. And im not even one of those guys who immediately denounces a remake as being worse than the original, and how nothing can beat the original.

This just sucks and reeks of bad directing.

What's with the music? Totally wrong for what is taking place. Also, overall this sucks compared to this scene in the original Carrie. This one is barely scary at all, the original had an intensity to it, a darkness. I wonder if the people that made this one ever watched the 1978 version...

This scene might have even surpassed the original, but the music is atrocious. It should be a lot darker and more ominous. Also, instead of Carrie being in a trance while she killed those people, she should have looked much more angry and homicidal.
