guys it blows every 640,000 years and i did the math and we are overdue at about 4 years and the max a volcano of this size can is about 6 years thats 2 years away ...2012...12/21/12 Dooms Day...im just sayin
Not necessarily. I mean, in some ways, you are right and some ways you are wrong. Toba ejected 2,800 km3 of ash and almost wiped out humanity. If you had that same 2,800 today, it might not be AS bad. Millions will die, but not extinction.
However! Toba has over 40,000 km3 of eruptable stuff under it and back then, it only erupted 2,800. Imagine if it erupted more than 5,000. The chances are low, but if it does, THAT'S extinction level. No technology would stop that.
@AeonXero its not the eruption that kills, its the after affects. there would be no crops and prices would shoot the moon which would collapse civilization and kill billions.
@djrebelrichard I'm not exactly sure, but I'm guessing that since Yellowstone also sits on uranium reserves, if they dropped a nuke on it, it would probably make it more stable than anything else, because the chemical reactions would create an extremely large layer of glass. A friend of mine told me this, but I didn't believe him.
dude danielvolker...get a new comment already hahaha...that guy's posted that same thing on 8/9 past vids ive watched about this subject...we get it...you're "deep''
This planet will shake off mankind like a dog shaking off a flea, and there's nothing we can do to stop it, we can prevent it maybe for 100's passibly 1000's of years.

Nostradamus said man would become man-eaters. I guess when there's famine, human flesh seems tastier.

Yeah, it might seem distasteful but when your starving your going to do what it takes to survive.

tap that sheeoott and rotate some electric producing turbines.
Fockersnextdoor 3 years ago
tap it? what good is the energy produced if it does that much damage to the climate?
until we can figure out how to contain the damage, which seems impossible.... tapping it for energy is absolutely useless im afraid.
