I love this song. I have the Messenger Cd and am always thinking thst I will have it "WORN OUT" ,especially this song. I play it over and over! If you have never heard JP play live in concert..... you need to ,he is such a great talent!!!! The video is wonderful. We all need to realize that this world is one place and although everyone needs to celebrate their customs and uniqueness we are all basically in need of the same things to sustain us!!!
Very nice song and moving tribute to this difficult situation. (I live in Calif and love JP's music. I hope I can find the Messenger CD to buy when I vacation in Victoria next month.)
Yes... piece is the way.... we can give each little girl a piece of cotton to cover the acid burns on her face after she has had the audacity to attend school.
Yes,I agree, but if theirs no political will then it's not safe for the soldiers to stay. When the political leaders give lip service, but don't provide the equipment and protection for the troops.
I heard this on Remembrance Day....it brought tears to my eyes. I have quite a few members of my family in the military. My nephew accompanied the body of his best friend/roomie home...terrible for a 20-year-old young man to face. Other members of my family have served in Peacekeeping duties. I am so proud of them. I think your song says it all about Afghanistan. Keep up the beautiful writing!
Yet another beautifully written song by you J.P. Please don't ever stop. I can tell you there were a few damp eyes at the Cohen when you played that for us the other night.
Thanks to all that wear the uniform so proud to defend our wonderful way of life. Lest we forget.
I first heard this song after completing an interview with my sister about our mission in Afghanistan. Like the post before me, I was so moved by the song that I has to google it! I get so emotional thinking about our troops who are currently deployed and about my upcoming mission. Thank-you J.P. so very much for your gift of music and for this beautiful song and music video. Happy Remembrance Day everyoneLest we Forget!!!
I heard this song for the first time this morning at the end of an interview with a local brother and sister: she's in Afghanistan, he's just finishing his training to go there. With tears streaming I googled and found this video. Beautiful! I found out later that the gal interviewed on our local station is one of the three soldiers in the picture ~ 3min 40 seconds into the video. I can't wait until your scheduled concert in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
JP,,,what an amazing song,,,your work gets better and better with every new album. I hope Hanlon treated you well while in Bahrain! Great work on the video Hootie.Hats off to ya both!!
Once again JP has made music worth listening to. Love the video and the song is something else. Only he could put words together so strong and meaningful. Thanks JP
this song, these photos,if sadness doesn't enter your heart there must be something wrong with you ,i complained i had no shoes ,then one day, i met a man with no feet, what a fantastic mix,my heart and prayers go out to all our brave men and women who are over there , and to the ones that didn't make it back, may they rest in peace,(ANN MURRAY)- said in a song i sure could use a little good news today,,,god bless
You will never know, in a thousand lifetimes, unless you have been there how totally gut-wrenching these images are to me. I wept while watching this and hope that others see it and do the same. You have paid a great tribute to me and especially our beautiful soldiers with this collage. May Allah bless you and all your house for this. Thank You.

Fighting for a just cause. Thanks for the upload.
For all the ignorants out there: Afghanistan is not sand desert middle east nor it is south asia. Its a beautifull central asian country.

Maybe we should nuke these bastards and rename the country to "Allfullasand".

Thanks for the comments JP. So glad you liked it.
I too hope many more get to see it and realize just what our fine young men & women are going through.
Your song made it quite easy to add the pictures to and speaks volumes.
I Thank You !
