  • This lapsteel guitar didn't get high marks from those that bought it. You can check out reviews at Musicians Friends. It is now selling at $79.99 a vast reduction in original price of $99.99. Be sure to check out all products made by Rogue for comments. I have been skunked on one of their instruments because I didn't heed the warning of those that left poor reviews.

  • @jimmyisner

I think that you need to be careful any time you buy a $100 instrument. I paid $63 when I bought the EA-3. It's little more than a nut, bridge and pickup mounted on a 2 x 4. I wouldn't buy a $100 fretted guitar and expect much of anything in terms of quality. A $100 starter lap steel is an acceptable gamble. I think that I got a lot more than I paid for. It's all perspective. I've spent $63 on restaurant pizza dinners for my kids. The EA-3 is worth $80 or $100.

  • thats fucking gay .... the ultimate lazy boy instrumente.

  • @CaLLiyKinG

Search Cindy Cashdollar or Jerry Douglas on youtube and and then tell me if you really believe that this is a lazy person's instrument. I'm just a beginner and I bought the thing for fun.

I encourage everyone to view the videos that CallisKing has posted (there are none).

Why does the rudest profanity always come from people who don't have the nerve or talent to post themselves. It's like a 10 year old making a prank phone call from their friend's mom's house.

  • @studio1087 yeah still preeeety gay hahahahaahaha whaaa!!

  • @CaLLiyKinG

Wait a minute. Is "preeeety gay" supposed to be spelled with one t or two t's?

    Pteeeety or Preeeetty?

Not sure. I think you had it right the first time.

    You mean "happy" gay right?

I'm confused. I'm old or something.

Have a nice weekend you nut.

    (-;

  • @studio1087 You two :) here's a lil something to help you 8====D - #

sence you look like the type that would enjoy it hahahaha

  • Hmm I wonder if this would work playing to a Pink Floyd song... Like a Great gig in the sky, or high hopes.

  • @doomgurumedia

I'm sure you could slide your way through some Gilmour. Sounds like fun.

  • @doomgurumedia There is actually a video of someone doing just that.

  • dude i will send you the link.use this tuning and its sounds amazing

  • check this guy out..he will tell you how to tune it properly....300guitar

  • @BANGERS68

Thanks! I'll take all the help that I can get!

    I'll check him out.

  • Dang typo! Sorry. I was looking for a good beginner unit....something solid to learn on. I still like this lap steel. Stays in tune, it's solid and the pickup is ok. Good starter unit.

  • I was also looking for a good beginner lap steel......I still like this T

  • Looking for a good low beginner steel ...

  • I really appreciate tip. I'm a guitar player and I've seen Doug Pettibone with Lucinda Williams a few times. Watching him switch from guitar to lap steel is amazing. I'm justvtrying to learn a little lapbsteel. Something new. Thanks for the tip.

  • If you use your fingers on your left hand to damp the strings behind the steel you will improve the tone hugely.

  • By the way......I play guitar and bought this just for fun. I think it's very nice for 80 dollars. The pots are quiet, the pickup is "ok", the tuners are "ok" and the steel legs and heavy carry bag are solid. Lots of fun. Solid learning tool.

  • When I made the video I was using whatever shipped on the lapsteel. I later upgraded to some medium gauge laptop strings by D'Addario. I expected the original strings to be poor but they were ok.

  • what gage strings are you using as well as which brand?

  • you got to learn how to play the first song by band of horses on it its REALLY easy. PLEASE make a video of it because im getting one for Christmas

  • Open E. Just like open E on a guitar. When I move the slide anywhere I'm playing a major chord just like a major bar chord on a guitar. It's simple. I'm just learning and goofing around so I kept it simple.

  • how are you tuned?

  • I have played guitar for 34 years. We I shot this video I had played lap steel for about 45 minutes. I'm just goofing around and having fun with the lap steel. Trying to learn.

    John

  • very nice

  • how long have u been play?

  • I hope you enjoy it. It's really fun to noodle around with.

  • I just ordered one. I cant wait ttll i get it.

  • Thanks! All this weekend you can get free shipping on ANYTHING by using promo code VDAY123 upon checkout. It does matter how large or what the price is. MF and Music123 are the same company....all the pricing is the same.

I prdered a generic Les Paul case last night for $50 and got free shipping.

    FYI

    Have a great weekend,

    John

  • Wow, I think I will pick one of these up from MF along with a new set of C6th strings and a tone bar to get up to Free shipping. I would suspect that a nicer pick-up, some Pots, and a little bridge work would make this baby sing! Nice demo! That looks like a lot of fun. Enjoyed your videos....

  • Thanks. There was a classic blues show on Public Radio last night....easy to slide with. I had a blast. My kids like to do the big slide that you hear at the start of a a Loony Tunes cartoon. Fun stuff. I think that MF and Music 123 are charging $79 now...what a deal. If they email you one of their 20% or 15% off one item coupons.....JUMP ON IT. It really stays in tune and I have not put better strings on it yet. I bought better strings and they are still in the gig bag! Nice.

    John

  • Thinking of buying one- thanks for posting this! You rule.
