Thanks for the idea. It's made these last couple of weeks more bearable. I can't stand being anywhere w/nothing to do where I can't get around w/o sighted help and bored. @ijarmond - It is not illegal to use or make a high-gain antenna, in fact your total power can up to 1 watt. Most routers and wifi devices often operate with under 200mW. When it comes to using these antennas to use someone else's wifi network or to simply download illegal content then of course your use is illegal. The device in this video likely doesn't work as well as advertised, it is unlikely the strainer reflects much signal back to the antenna in the dongle.

@layziebone2152 I'm in my 2mos & 2wks @ my MIL's after the fan to the central went out & then kind community members began painting the inside w/help from DH & MIL b/c I'm not able w/2 autoimmune diseases in mod to severe stages. MIL doesn't have dial-up let alone wifi. I didn't have mesh but I found foil & created dish-like shape. Now I'm able to get online in day & night w/more than 1mbps... It's running around 20-25 or so but it's much faster & more like broadband than stone-age dial-up!

(no peripheral vision for yrs & central is only within few inches in front of me). Retinal disease & autoimmunes are stealing what little light perception left. It's my outlet 4 tv shows/movies, friends, support, & teachers.
