Thanks for posting this, I remember seeing it numerous times as a kid on Sesame Street and having those stamps at home. This clip has stuck with me more than any other from SS. I would love to see a comparison video with how it is done now.
she was writing the letter to a person named "Nana" are we to assume it's her grandma or just a friend of hers named Nana because the letter is addressed as "Nana"
I've been waiting for years for this one for years thanks alot this ones interesting cuz it's filmed in DC instead of NYC like most Sesame street sketches
I remember this video; I now find it cool that I was living in the area that Debi was living in at the time this was filmed! Had I paid closer attention to the envelope, I would've known that sooner!
FINALLY!!! thank you! i couldnt remember if i had seen this on sesame street or mr rogers and it was bothering the hell out of me when i couldnt find it anywhere!
When I was very young seeing this skit, I used to think that it was okay to lick glue since the girl said from 1:02-1:06 that the papers have glue if you lick and it will stick. Then when I tried licking Elmer's Glue, it tasted very bad, and I thought to myself "how can that girl from this skit say that glue was okay to lick?"
This kind of reminds me of those videos Mr. Rogers often showed about how people made things. He probably did one about stamps as well, but it couldn't take the place of this. A kid talking about this type of process really hits the spot.
well almost everything 23 years ago was half the price it is today back then the fare on NYC subway 75 cents now it's $2.25 back then the price for candy bar was like45 cents now it's about. 85 cents a hppy meal at McD's was 1.99 now it's about 3.99 Gasoline was about 1.09 a gallon now it's about 2.70 a gallon and the list is endless.
Holy cow! 22¢ stamps that you had to lick? Talk about a blast from the past.

How can red, blue, and yellow make a brown dog? I tried it with paint I got a big mess.

Well, the folks at the stamp factory are professionals. Also, they used ink, not paint.

It's great to see this skit again, and it's also nice to get a look on how stamps are made since I enjoy sending things by postal mail.

I was looking for this! For some reason I thought it was Mr. Roger's Neighboorhood. Those stamps are so cute!!!

As a stamp collector, I can tell you this would have been filmed in 1986.
