  • thanks for the comment. Very good

  • OMG!!! This is Rachel Griffiths, late of Six Feet Under. I don't know who is actually singing this aria(Google this if you want to find out). Rachel Griffiths is one of the sexiest women alive and a fantastic actress. Definitely not a castrato! I can see why some of you did not recognize her, but DUH. I now absolutely must see this movie.

  • @brainsparkles

    obrigada pelo comentário. Muito bom

  • @sillyboydeux Her friend has died and her last wish was to hear her sing, after she fulfils the wish for her friend she sings at her funeral. Excellent film :)

  • @annrusso

I tought she was singing to her dead friend... interesting

  • @bernhardt2

Yes it is a woman, but there's nothing like a gelding. Find it on the web and see that she has participated in other films. Yes she has a beautiful voice. Thanks for the comment

  • @bernhardt2 lol

  • @bernhardt2

Investigate and find out if the actress is spayed or not. Her name is Rachel Griffiths.

  • @bernhardt2 see my comment below. This is RACHEL GRIFFITHS. She is not your typical gorgeous movie star, but she is def. a woman and very sexy. Here she is made up to look a little masculine. People, check Google re. this movie. Jonathan Pryce(Juan Peron in EVITA)stars in this movie as well.

  • @bernhardt2 you know somethin, i thought the exact same thing

  • @sillyboydeux - you should have to see the movie ... !

  • @sillyboydeux The song tells a tragic story (see translation below) ~ hLN Translation in English Oh my dear papa I love him, he is handsome, handsome I want to go to Porta Rossa to buy the ring! Yes, yes, I want to go there! And if my love were in vain, I would go to the Ponte Vecchio and throw myself in the Arno! I am being consumed by the torment! Oh God, I'd like to die! Papa, have pity, have pity! Papa, have pity, have pity! (From wikipedia: ie. search for "O mio babbino caro")
  • @hln63 Actually, this is not at all true, you are taking the words out of context. The "song" is actually an aria from a COMIC(!) opera Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini. The girl, Lauretta, may be sincere or she may be manipulating her daddy into helping her, but what she has no intention to throw herself into the river. She is not asking for permission, she wants her daddy to agree to help the boy's parents get the inheritance. This is in context: /watch?v=QXV-SsMgSOo

  • I found this film on the Sundance channel one Saturday afternoon by accident. This is now absolutely one of my favorites! I've got to get a copy!

  • singing to her dead farther

  • The song being sung at the graveside service has nothing to do with the funeral, it has to do with the ralationships between those who are standing around the grave and the relationships between the deseased and thhose whom you are observing as the camera pans out around. The movie is also about the choices we make in life and how we battle with the implications of the decisions have made on our lives

  • @JamesJimmyJnr

    Thanks for the clarification.

  • such purity and grace

  • i love the song and the flim so sad but the ending is beautiful!

  • @sillyboydeux her dying friend always wanted to hear her sing but she wouldnt but then when she died she sang it for her

  • @sillyboydeux because the girl who died had asked her to do it and she sang it, but her voice wasnt trained well..and i guess now that she got better the girl died and now she sings it....

  • @sillyboydeux watch the film please.

  • Never watched the film, please watch it,you will understand I promise.

  • @sillyboydeux ,Never saw the film, watch it then you will understand.

  • @sillyboydeux

    I do not know. Lament

  • one of my favourite films -excellent

  • I love the scene when she sing on the top of her dad's truck at the window of her dying fiend and than when she sings at the funeral you can hear the difference in the quality of her voice. Great movie and her singing.

  • Beautiful voice and tone!!!!

  • this is a fab film - had me in bits. Just luv it!

  • Please do not tell me Ioan Gruffudd's character died?? (never seen this before)

  • @sillyboydeux Her friend Bethan wanted to hear her sing this song as her dying wish, she did this after overcoming a crisis of confidence, the scene leading up to it along with this funeral scene is very powerfull and touching. it's a great film.

  • hits you in your soul

  • Wonderful, but very tragic...we don´t know if Lauretta threw herself in Arno river, and the singer is dead...

  • @ausspan Oh for heaven say, Lauretta has always had zero intention to throw herself into the river. I don't know about this movie, but the aria itself comes from the COMIC OPERA! Why do people guess instead of simply reading the plot of Gianni Schicchi?

  • Meriel Andrews has a class voice beautiful just beautiful

  • that's not her singing, but well, she is on e of the best imitations I've seen,I mean, the muscles in her neck showed kind of a pressure like when singing opera...that movie was weird haha

  • yes its true, its meriel andrews´voice

  • Music soothes the savage beast.

Soma arias feel like being in heaven.

  • UUuuah !!!! veins are popp'n out on her long sexy neck !

  • they are not veins

  • Dude it is her she is a trained opera singer

  • what a wonderful song, sung by a wonderful voice

  • Is this really Rachel singing??

  • I believe that yes

  • No.

  • I love this version. She has a wonderful voice.
