I dunno. This seems kind of brisk in articulation. Almost like a caricature of a Schoenberg performance....although I admit I'm going off a first experience of a recording by the Lenox quartet from '74.
I'd have to agree with you there. The articulation is making all the note values a bit to sparse for my tastes. It's interesting to have such an obvious interpretation, though.
Schoenberg said that this music was an interpretation of the shots of a needle that he felt during a heart attack

I believe the attribution is wrong. Opus 41 is Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte. The String Trio is Opus 45
