Hey guys, Author of the movie here(Henrik Norgren, not JarrardC). I thought a more detailed explanation of how this movie was created might be a good idea:

First of all you need an emulator capable of recording input, i used Mupen 64 rerecording.

After opening Control, it goes like this:

Pause game, Choose buttons/range of analog stick for this frame, go to next frame, repeat process.

Save state often and go back to those if you make a mistake.

Time to make this movie: Weeks

I was really ticked off at the so-called elites after I put so much effort into my non-cheat videos for Timesplitters2 for the PS2 (Heir to Goldeneye N64) but now you have explained how they did, for example, 3.5 seconds on the Pane in the Neck level!!! I am grateful. (Those guys don't admit to TAS & emus...)

@TSGameStar There is no TAS'ing for PS2 yet, those videos are very real. Besides there is proof video available for 3.5(on youtube) and i don't see why that would be impossible at all. For such a short level any completion should be very close to the world record. I'm an eliter myself(goldeneye/perfect dark) and being accused of TAS'ing/cheating is never fun, so please look up the facts next time. Those guys have put YEARS into those world records and you can't expect to tie it immideadly.

It's a TAS(Tool Assited Speedrun), meaning it was played at very low frames per second, recorded, then speed up to normal speed in order to give the illusion of perfection.

Because if you play a game a a very slow speed, you have almost infinite time react.

PersonOnEarth hit it right on the head. At first, I didn't like TASes, but after reading the "How and Why" section on tasvideos, I realized -- It's for entertainment. There are real speedruns done in realtime, but TASes *usually* don't claim to be real runs, and are merely there to show the limits.

Very well done TAS, too, it takes a lot of patience to reach such quality.
