Yes, it was really positive. Things soon just "picked up". There was a media driven pride in things British and I remember news reports where they'd interview people on the streets of other countries like France who said thewey wished they had a leader like Blair. He was a good statesman, people forget that. Economy wise things picked up before Labour, sort of 1996ish (except car sales). Shame people got greedy with housing. That extended an otherwise sustainable boom beyond sense.
