george kollias is a big influence in my drumming. and of course i know he is billions of times better then me. he's not even human.lol but i think this is strongly is opinion in blasting. but you can do a blast beat at the sam time on your hands. i saw it on the derek roddy dvd. but he did it with one foot of course. like kollias. my opinion my fave top 3 metal drummers. derek roddy, pete sandoval, and george kollias. no aparent order.

Of of course not everyone who listens to metal does that but a large part of them do and the typical metalhead is either long haird or bald generaly speaking .Of course its not appearances that make the "metalhead" if that were true the genre wouldnt be worth listening to it would just be like pop or rap and it would suck I know plenty about metal I was just replying to someones comment . When you say tend it means alot of the time but not always so I was right .

They got long hair because on some songs where they are doing a brutal-slow riff, they can bang their heads. Some of them grew up listening to metal and probably still do.

i like that style of blast ('the original') but I also like the pounding style with snare/bass together and the blast with 16th double bass. man blast beats are the best beats ever!
