@folion3721 Hello! I think the salt water does go into the tank, as I said in my response above to knightflyer42... when I added more eggs, very few hated, I added more again and none hated. I didn't do any tests to check the salinity of the water, but it sure seems that the salt water diluting would be a good reason that more brine shrimp wouldn't hatch when they did so well the day prior.

Fascinating... I'm thinking of trying to make something like this from some spare PVC I have lying around. After seeing this, I'm thinking a P-trap might work well. Have to think on it a bit.
@knightflyer42 Hello and thanks for the reply. I will note that on the 2nd day I added more brine shrimp eggs and didn't get many to hatch. On the 3rd day I figured maybe I just didn't put enough eggs in so I couldn't tell a difference between what was swimming out as the new batch was hatching so I put the same amount as the first day and still none hatched. I didn't do any type of testing but my guess is the salt water diluted into my tank. I have not decided if I want to test this again.
