I've been gluten free for almost 2 weeks not including 2 slip ups. My face at first seem to clear up but now my skin seems to be pulling everything to the surface. My skin looks horrible! However, this has made me more committed. Yesterday I got gluten free crackers, bread, and am right at 100% gluten free now! I feel amazing and having the substitutes there helps. I'm really hoping to see an improvement in my skin along with the other changes. NO MORE STOMACH PAIN!!! and I've lost weight!
@ScatrickFlorence very cool, keep it up! I recommend eating less crackers, bread & carbs even if it is gluten free b/c that doesn't have the same nutrient density as fruits & veggies do... add fruits & veggies to your diet!
sauerkraut is German. you have to make sure its unpastuerized to make sure that good bacteria is still in there. Also, kombucha is a probiotic drink, often can be found without lactose bacteria, for people who can't do dairy.
Can you recommend a salad dressing? I highly prefer ranch-style, but I'm willing to use some olive oil/vinegar/etc. if necessary. Any brands/products in particular? Thanks
Hi David! I have a few questions about the oil cleansing method, as you did a video on it a while ago.1) I was wondering whether the oil cleansing method could be done without a washcloth, like rinsing your face off with some water (But i feel like this would leave a film on your skin) and 2). Do you need to apply the oil to dry skin when cleansing?
@IntoBlackHouse Yep, I don't use a washcloth... You will wash most of it off and the skin will absorb the rest. Dry skin is best, just pat your skin down with a towel after you wash it then do the oil cleansing method.
@IntoBlackHouse well, only if you want too... the point of the oil cleansing method is to cleanse your skin so not really but if you do it's no big deal.
@MrJoeymaestro That's weird, never heard that before. There must be something in it that you are lacking otherwise... not sure. Or just use some burt's bees to moisturize them.
Hey David, I was tested for lactose intolerance but it came back negative. When I took that test I was tested for other things also and malabsorption came up. Its basically where my body isn't absorbing nutrients from food due to damage in the digestive tract. Could gluten be causing this problem plus the bumpy sort of acne? What can I do?
@RachaelAnne06 Yes, most definitely... in fact gluten is probably a big problem. I recommend taking my advice in this vid and going gluten free as well as starting to include probiotics in your diet. Kim-chi & sauerkraut are great etc. Also, fiberzon (from the "herbs for acne" video I made w/ my mother) would be a great supplement to take to heal and rebuild the digestive tract. Hope that this helps!
@acneerasingsecrets Thanks so much for your advice. Im only 17 and eat a pretty healthy diet so this shouldn't be happening! I will cut out gluten for 1-2 weeks and see what happens :D
@PowderedPeach YES! LOL... I should know that too! I've heard it before and i'm part german! lol... It's crazy how asian countries use fermented vegetables (kim-chi), mediterranean countries have fermented foods, germany has fermented cabbage... It obviously has some health benefit! Good Bacteria! :)
Another issue with people who are actually allergic or Ceoliac is that they crave gluten, I have been gluten free for 21 years, since I was a little child, and the hardest part is the self control as I have ridiculous cravings for everything gluten, sandwhiches or big bowls of pasta on probably a daily basis!
You have to be careful withh gluten free products though, the laws surrounding them most countries are pretty lenient as to what is actually 'Gluten Free' although many products may be advertised as free from gluten, this may not be the case. I know Australia and New Zealand have very strict laws however on gluten free products.
@emmajosephine1990 Thanks for sharing that, that is a great point... I recommend vegetables & fruits as a baseline for a healthy clear skin diet so that's most important! Thank you for sharing! you rock :)
Gluten and dairy are the major issues for me. I've been off them for 8 weeks now. My severe moderate (severe because it had taken over my face, moderate because while it was very inflammatory it wasn't yet cystic) acne began clearing up the week I went gluten and dairy free. It was amazing. I have never had such an immediate positive reaction to anything. I'll make an effort to have more probiotic foods to help sort out my system.
gluten or food migh actually be the case. I've been on a diet for some time now and the less sweets, bread, meat, spices and junk food, or processed food I eat the better my skin gets. I just have to be strong and keep on with the diet and find alternative food.I do eat 'forbidden' stuff, but I try to eat less of it, and once a week, not every day, cuz then the break outs come back. Hormones and stress I guess are also to blame, but food is surely one of the main factors. Thanks ;*
@kelsweety1 It's a good idea, having just water is better than having doughnuts, popcorn, pizza & soda fasting! LOL... It's definitely worth a shot. The secret acne cleanse is a water/lemon/fruit/veg fast sorta.
