As I was saying I used YOur Baby Can Read DVD series over 7 months. She loved this because I cuddled her on the couch and interacted with her during this time once per day. After the 5 dvd's (about 7 months) I introduced the word cards.

Here is the best advice I can give you. Your Baby LOVES to Learn; and Loves spending time with YOU!

So your baby will be thrilled to take in anything you want to teach.

I used Your Baby Can Read

Whole Word Recognition is best (I think) to teach first; so teaching the alphabet song is fine, (just sing it often)but their sounds, phonics, comes later (2.5ish)

However, if I were to do it again, I would read Glenn Doman's books, starting with "How to Teach Your Baby to Read" and begin with the word cards right away.

Baby's need to be presented with large font to read. THey can easily internalize 100's of words before they are one year old. Before they can talk. They can just point to the object the word represents to prove they understand it (ie nose, or mommy).

cute girl ! my son did the same thing at age 2--but he had 19 or 20 videos that I recorded and wrote the names on them and he knew which one was which--one day it hit me--how can he know out of 20 videos?? He knew the alphabet at age 2 also but he learned all of this on Sesame Street--I did not use a program-- but music also does the same thing at an early age -my son started piano at age 3.. they are like little sponges at that age-keep up the good work --!!!!

Thats fantastic, amazing how much they can learn if good parents like yourselves are putting in the effort. She speaks very clearly as well. Oh my wife wants to watch now haha thanks guys, that was great.
